A slick of lipstick is often all you need to boost your mood, make you feel a little more pulled together and change the look of an outfit entirely. It’s always been my secret weapon, especially when I can’t be bothered or am feeling more than a little bit lacking of sleep, but often re-applying lipstick throughout the day can leave your lips feeling parched. If you love the idea of colour but the texture puts you off, then you may be happy to discover BareMinerals new Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick – a super lightweight, creamy texture that’s made with minimum ingredients. What’s even better is that it’s actually proven to significantly improve the look of lip lines, texture and dryness in just one week…
Vegan and formulated with 76% naturally derived extracts, each bullet of colour contains just 19 ingredients (around 40% less than other top selling lipsticks.) They’ve ‘left out the unnecessary additives’ (including parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance mineral oil,) but added in a plethora of goodness: European Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil, Mediterranean Olive Oil and Moroccan Pomegranate Extract help to hydrate, nourish, soften, replenish and protect to leave lips feeling smoother.
The result is a texture that’s incredibly comfortable and feels more like a balm than a traditional lipstick, making the bareMinerals Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick perfect for wearing all day every day without running the risk of ruining your pout for the next week. I’ve been wearing my favourite coral shade repeatedly and my often dry lips haven’t felt at all parched or in need of extra care, which is all I can really ask for. With a shade range that encompasses nudes, browns, pinks, reds and berry tones, there’s something for every need and complexion too; my personal faves are Abundance and Energy, but to be honest I could happy wear every one of the ten I’ve been putting to the test.
In terms of the claim that it’s been clinically proven to ‘improve the look of lip lines, texture and dryness in just one week’, I can’t say that I’ve really noticed any difference since using these – but I am a lip balm addict and I do often reach for the ARK Skincare Advanced Action Plumping Lip Cream (a bit of a secret weapon as it helps to hydrate and firm the lip area,) so I’m not sure if someone like me would benefit from a noticeable improvement. But if your lips are parched, your pout has seen better days or you’re just concerned about fine lines around the mouth area, this is definitely a product that could help restore your smile to the best it can be.
