My Fail-Safe Fashion Look: 4 Ways To Wear A Floral Midi Dress

Do you have a go-to look? The one that you feel effortlessly ‘yourself’ wearing; the one you know you can pull out of the closet on a minute’s notice and know you’ll look the part; the one that’s become a default option when you’re not sure what else to wear. For me, it’s a floral midi dress. If you cut me I’m pretty sure my blood would be floral print, there’s that much of the material in my collection. It’s something I can rely on to make me feel feminine and elegant without opting for pink or pastel colours, and a look that takes me through every season and occasion of the year – one dress can be worn with sandals and basket bags in the summer, or boots and chunky layers in the winter.

A multi-purpose outfit at its finest, especially during these transitional months when you’re not too sure if the skies will brighten up or the heavens will open, a floral dress is my ultimate default – but a biker jacket and leather accessories help to toughen it up and create a whole new look. Whoever decided biker jackets and floral dresses were a match made in heaven deserves world wide recognition and an award for services to fashion, because it’s just such an effortlessly chic look that suits every shape, age or usual style.

Every woman should have a leather jacket in their collection too, and spend as much as you can afford; a real leather biker jacket is such a wise investment, as they tend to look and fit even better as they age – this one I’ve had for about six years and it’s still going strong, having moulded itself to my body and become almost butter soft to touch. Matched with a pair of chunky boots and a leather bag, and you’ve got yourself an effortlessly chic and comfortable look you can re-visit time and time again.

I wish I had your confidence in a leather jacket. I always get so self conscious when I wear mine, but reading this gives me inspiration to keep perseving until it feels like a second skin as it really is so versatile!

I also love floral midi dresses. I recently bought a denim jacket to dress down some of my floral midi dresses and it’s helped some of my fancier dresses become more wearable. These kind of posts are great because they help you get creative with your wardrobe and think of new ways to style your outfits. I enjoyed reading this post and can’t wait to match some of my floral midi dresses with a leather jacket and chunky boots. Thanks for sharing!

Denim jackets are my second fave – always a great way to dress down, especially in spring, with a pair of trainers! I’m glad I can be of inspiration 🙂
