Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam: No Streaks, No Bad Smells, No Stress

Having a golden natural glow makes me feel all the more fabulous than my natural pasty pale skin tone. I may embrace my transparentness during the winter months, but as soon as the sunshine hits and the little strappy dresses come out a touch of colour helps me to feel my most confident self. Although I’d love to spend the entirety of my summer achieving a natural holiday glow on the coast of sunny España, realistically I turn to a touch of fake tan to boost the appearance of my skin and get me ready to wear those tropical prints. (It’s also way better for you than spending a tonne of time in the sun, obvs.)
Over the years I’ve made every tanning mistake known to man: streaky finishes, patchy feet, hands that are fifty shades of orange, smelling like a biscuit factory, looking about five shades too dark, forgetting to do my face and everything inbetween. It’s easy to get it wrong if you don’t hone your technique, or have the perfect product to help – and I’ve tried them all. Without a doubt my fave texture is a lightweight and quick-drying foam, which helps to create a more flawless finish with minimal faff, so when best selling brand Coco & Eve (yep, the guys behind that coconut hair masque that’s all over your Insta feed!) let me know they were launching their own tan I jumped at the chance to give it a go.
Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam is available in three shades (medium, dark and ultra dark) to suit your needs and features a beautifully light and inoffensive scent; with splashes of Balinese mango and guava this is an utter joy to apply – and doesn’t leave that telltale fragrance lingering to give the game away that you haven’t just stepped off a plane. The formula utilises a green-grey base for the most natural colour result that’s totally free from orange tones, as well as being free from DHA (the tanning ingredient used by most brands that can dry out skin during the development process.) Amazingly Bali Bronzing Foam is also vegan and cruelty free, as well as being free from parabens, sulphates, pythalates – so it’s a far more appealing option to us conscious consumers wanting to make better choices. (Even the bottle is made from recyclable plastic and all packaging is fully biodegradable!)
What do I love about Coco & Eve Bali Bronzing Foam the most though?
Undoubtedly it’s added skincare benefits!
Infused with mandarin oil, fig, banana, papaya and coconut, the hydrating and antioxidant ingredients help to protect and nourish skin while you tan; the formula is also packed full of vitamin C that’s absorbed by the upper epidermis to improve skin elasticity, ensuring you look and feel fabulous in the long-term too. Orange, raw virgin coconut and lotus flower also make up Coco & Eve’s unique ‘Cellushape Technology’ to help deeply hydrate, firm skin (yey to amino acids!) and blur pigmentation to give you the most beautiful finish, making it the world’s first skincare and tan in one. Yep, this tan also helps to create the perfect skin base while adding that beautiful touch of sunshine glow!
The application process is super easy too, making the Coco & Eve tan suitable for even the most novice of us to embrace. A pump of foam applied directly to skin (I use about two for each limb and a couple for each area of my torso, FYI, so you don’t need a huge amount) is all you need, buffing it in with either the super soft velvety mitt or what I’ve affectionately re-named ‘my tanning secret weapon’: the deluxe vegan kabuki buffing brush. The mitt is great for ensuring a consistent application across your skin, but the brush is amazing for buffing and blending around those tricky areas – such as the hands, feet, knees and face.
You don’t have to stand around for hours waiting for the tan to dry enough to get dressed either, as it’s touch dry within minutes and develops within only two hours – so it’s perfect for that last minute tan or for when you’re in a bit of a rush. I love the fact I can wack it on in the morning post shower (buffing away any dry skin pre-tan is an essential step!) and it develops by the time I’ve caught my train; what more could you ask for?! This really is the ultimate tanning solution.
Over the years I’ve tried A LOT of tans. Many of them deliver in one respect, but fall short in other areas; but with Coco & Eve’s Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam I honestly think I’ve found the perfect solution – a great colour result, no bad smell, no streaks, speedy dry time and added skincare benefits too.
