Whatever your feelings are towards Christmas in the traditional sense, there’s no doubt that this is the perfect time of year to show your loved ones how much you care. A thoughtful gift can mean the world to someone, but the pressure is often on to get them something that will blow their mind; that can be a tricky old task, so if you don’t know where to begin I’ve pinpointed ten of the most fabulous festive treats for any woman who loves a little bit of sparkle and luxury… Or just an amalgamation of all the bits you can put on your own wishlist this December! Whether you’re after a cute stocking filler, full on luxury or something between – I’ve got you covered.
Ciate Glitter Storm Lipstick (£19.00)
Without a doubt Ciate have been bringing us all the sparkle this year, and their Glitter Storm lipsticks are just the ticket for anyone who loves a bit of bling. Available in six shades (including red, berry, plum, pink, bronze and nude) these are velvety smooth and not at all grainy, providing an incredibly wearable and subtle glittery shimmer to lips that’s perfect for the party season. I’m not big on glitter outside of the week leading up to NYE so I was a bit skeptical about these, but they’re actually beautiful and would make an incredible gift.
Sanctuary Spa Liquid Gold Bath Elixir (£12.00)
Add a little luxury to your bathtime come January with this beautiful rose gold elixir that creates an atmosphere of elegance. The Sanctuary iconic scent is still there, but this adds a subtle shimmer to bath water alongside a rich lather; decadent bubbles will fill your tub, while rose flower water will help to soften tired skin – what more could a woman ask for? (If you want to discover the rest of the Sanctuary Spa rose gold bathing range, read my full review here!)
The Body Shop Peppermint Candy Cane Body Butter (£15.00)
There’s something so traditional and almost iconic about The Body Shop’s festive collections, and this year is no different: their Peppermint Candy Cane body butter smells just like the sweets, without being artificial or overwhelming. It’s the same super rich and nourishing formula we all know and love, just with a Christmas twist.
PixiGlow Cake Highlighter (£24.00)
One of the newest additions to their makeup lineup, the ombre design of this palette is incredible: the shades are stunningly beautiful and incredibly wearable, offering a healthy glow to skin in tones that really work for everybody. Apply in one stroke of the brush for a multi-dimensional result, or use individually to contour, highlight and add a flush of colour to the cheeks. That is, if you can bear to use one of the prettiest launches I’ve seen this year!
Bobbi Brown Luxe Rich Sparkle Eye Shadow (£27.00)
I’m not gonna lie, the entire Bobbi Brown holiday collection is pretty incredible this year (more on the rest of those gorge palettes soon) but this stands out as a little shot of sparkle that you can actually wear all year round. Their eyeshadows are some of the best out there, and this singular champagne shade would be a great stocking filler or little treat for the lady who loves to shine; it can be buffed beautifully around the eye, applied wet as a liner or even tapped onto cheekbones if you want to add a little highlight.
Tweezerman Glitter Tweezers (£22.50)
Every woman needs a pair of these within her collection, but this holiday season they’ve upped the ante and added extra sparkle to their award-winning tools. I’ve been obsessed with Tweezerman for over a decade and cheaper tweezers just don’t compare, so they’re absolutely worthy of the investment. You may not think that a sparkly pair of tweezers is something you’d need, but I promise you any recipient would be over the moon to open this on Christmas Day.
Jo Malone White Moss & Snowdrop Cologne (£96.00)
So many holiday scents feature overly festive notes that feel a little out of place come January 1st (nobody wants to smell like mulled wine or a Christmas Tree after the decorations have been packed away!) but this limited edition Jo Malone perfume is refreshingly tran-seasonal. Described as ‘snowdrop petals peeking through powdery snow,’ the fragrance contains notes of forest-fresh moss, warm golden amber and a luminous burst of cardamom; the result is a refreshing but warm floral scent that can be enjoyed as much in springtime as in the depth of winter, and the luminescent bottle just makes it all the more covetable. Also available in a candle version; read my feature on the whole Jo Malone Holiday 2018 Collection here.)
Molton Brown Muddled Plum Bath & Shower Gel (£24.00)
I’ve still got a bottle of the Vintage Elderflower 2016 shower gel lingering in my bathroom because I can’t bear to use the sparkly goodness (see what I mean here,) and I fear this may offer the same problem! The fruity but elegant scent of the limited edition collection is not the only joy of this bottle, because it’s full to the brim with shimmering sparkle that I know everyone will love – whether used in a steaming bubble bath or morning shower. A great gift for every woman who loves a little luxury.
Caudalie Christmas Cracker (£10.00)
Worth £20.50, this super luxe cracker contains three minis that provide a great introduction to Caudalie and the foundations of a simple skincare regime: Micellar Cleansing Water, Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum and Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet. Perfect for travel or just a sweet way to show you care, this is one of the best beauty crakers I’ve seen – while remaining incredibly affordable.
Becca Shimmering Skin ‘Lava’ Highlighter (£30.00)
Undoubtedly one of the most celebrated brands for highlighters, Becca’s shimmering pans sure pack a great amount of punch. The rippled effect is supposed to represent flowing lava, while the champagne shade works beautifully against the skin; it catches the light effortlessly, while working with any base or skin tone. A wise investment – whether for a loved one or just yourself!
