Transition Effortlessly Into Autumn With These Beautiful NEW Beauty Treats

Having already stocked up on new coats, jumpers and boots, it’s safe to say I’m quite looking forward to the onset of colder weather. As much as I love sitting outside in the sunshine and wearing floaty dresses, I do adore layering up and spending chilly evenings on the sofa with endless cups of tea (but I’ve no doubt I’ll be eating my words by mid January.) The chillier days and harsh winds can start to play havoc with our beauty regimes as much as our wardrobes though, so it’s always a good idea to be prepared and start treating yourself to some more intense pampering treats; but to help you nail transitional autumn beauty you can just start introducing warmer scents, richer textures and more seasonal colours – so when it’s only a few degrees above freezing it doesn’t feel such a shock to the system!

Here are some of the newest, most exciting and most emotionally evocative beauty products that have landed on my desk to get me in the mood for arguably one of the best seasons; from overnight treatments and hand masks, to new scents and the liquid lipstick you simply must try, here are some of the most beautiful transitional autumnal beauty gems you’ll find this year.

Elizabeth & James Nirvana Rose Dry Shampoo (£20.00)
I do find it fascinating that dry shampoo has evolved from a secretive buy into a luxurious staple in the last decade, and this is the epitome of that. Developed by the Olsen twins, the Elizabeth & James dry shampoo is lightweight and effortlessly volumises without leaving behind residue or a powdery texture; hair is simply refreshed, revitalised and volumised at the root. It’s the beautiful scent of this that makes it super special though and worthy of that price tag – the elegant and sophisticated notes of rose linger in the hair to leave you feeling like a boss. It’s so good I find myself having a quick sniff of my waves at multiple points throughout the day.

Molton Brown Jasmin & Sun Rose Bathing Oil (£39.00)
Inspired by an ‘Egyptian landscape in late summer’s blushing dusk’ this evocative bath oil includes beautiful notes of Bergamot, Raspberry, Peach, Jasmine, Rose, Osmanthus, Patchouli and Musk. It’s reminiscent of those early Autumn days when the sun is still peeking through but there’s a chill in the air, so it’s the perfect oil to pop into a warm evening bath to enjoy by candlelight. Definitely the best scent they’ve launched in a long time.

Seoulista Beauty Rosy Hands Instant Manicure (£7.99)
I don’t know about you, but as soon as the temperature drops my hands start to suffer. My nails peel, the skin chaps and generally I feel like I should be taking daily trips to the nail salon – so little treatments like this can really help. Enriched with Beeswax, Vitamin C and Bulgarian Rose Oil, this treatment softens and conditions hands, whilst providing antioxidant protection to repair dryness and minimise pigmentation. You simply pop the serum-infused gloves on while watching telly to leave hands feeling smooth and soft, and cuticles somewhat less sketchy!

L’Occitane Immortelle Reset (£49.00)
Not only beautiful to look at, but a great transitional piece of skincare that’s perfect for layering, this new overnight launch from L’Occitane is a incredibly light water-gel infused with some serious ingredients. Marjoram is known to help activate gene expression functions that have become dormant due to natural ageing, Acmella Oleacera is a ‘natural alternative to botox’ as it relaxes muscle tension and helps to smooth the appearance of fine lines and expressions lines, while those tiny bubbles contain Immortelle Oil Extract – a powerful antioxidant that stimulates skin microcirculation and increases collagen synthesis. Admittedly I’ve not been using this long enough to see any results, but those ingredients made me sit up and pay attention; it’s on my bedside table for the duration of the next season, I promise you.

Bobbi Brown Camo Luxe Cheek & Eye Palette (£49.50)
Possibly the most gorgeous makeup item to have landed on my desk all year, this is not only a collectors item but a serious addition to any Autumnal makeup collection. The camo packaging hides within it six eyeshadows (three daytime nudes and three beautiful shimmery/sparkly tons for night) and a glorious highlighting shade to add radiance to skin. It’s the combination of the stunning tones that really speaks to me, knowing I could take this away for a long weekend and have everything I need to transform my look; it’s certainly not cheap, but it’s something to be treasured.

Cinch 5 in 1 Cleansing Water + Glow (£11.00)
When the colder weather hits, and we start to wear a heavier base, it’s more important than ever to look after our skin and cleanse effectively. Although I’m not a huge fan of micellar waters (they tend to make us lazy!) as a post-balm cleanse or first step in your morning routine, this is fab. It not only removes traces of makeup and dirt, but it also tones and gently exfoliates to leave skin perfectly balanced and clear; the addition of fruit acids leave skin refreshed and free from dullness, so it’s a perfect approach to skincare without the faff.

The Body Shop Instant Soothing Mask (£17.00)
Oats have long been used to soothe skin ailments and help to repair (my husband used to bathe in oats as a child to help calm his eczema,) and this 100% vegan mask harnesses the power of oats and almond milk to relieve dry and sensitive skin from tightness and irritation. It also gently exfoliates to leave skin feeling softer, smoother and recharged with moisture, so it’s the perfect morning pick-me-up or one to use after you’ve been out in the cold.Face masks don’t have to deliver intensive or visible results, sometimes they just need to reset skin and soothe away the day’s stresses – and this ticks that box.

Buxom VaVa Plump Shiny Liquid Lipstick (£15.00)
I’ve got a lot of love for Buxom and even more so for liquid lipsticks, which bridge the gap between gloss and matte effects perfectly, and these new VaVa Plumps are just the ticket. Available in some of the most glorious shades (my faves include the hot pink Pin Up Plum, perfect brown-nude Getting Warmer and the perfect transitional coral Kiss N Tell) these are really quite spectacular. They glide over lips beautifully to leave behind an intense pigment and a slight gloss, gently staining the lips so even when you sip that cup of hot chocolate you’re left with a fab result. A great way to transition your makeup bag without much effort.

Jimmy Choo Fever Perfume (£56.00)
This is, without a doubt, my scent of the season. Usually the Jimmy Choo scents are a bit too sweet or floral for me, but this new addition is the perfect combination of fruity and woody to leave me feeling totally in the mood for Autumn leaves. Notes including Black Plum Nectar, Lychee and Grapefruit, Vanilla Orchid and Jasmine mix beautifully with Roasted Tonka Bean, Benzoin and Sandalwood to deliver a fragrance that’s sensual and seductive. And that bottle! This has taken pride of place on my dresser (and my neck.)

Kerastase Aura Botanica Baume Miracle (£34.50)
The Aura Botanica haircare range is made with ingredients that are 99% from natural origin, making it a great alternative for those looking for professional quality without compromising their need for a more stripped back routine. This little pot of balm is the newest addition and perfectly complements the shampoo, conditioner and treatment thanks to the inclusion of hand-pressed Coconut and Argan oils which together provide a great hydration and smoothness boost for dry hair. Add a touch to dry ends to add movement and shine, pop through the length before bed for an overnight treatment, or rub a smidge over the crown of hair to minimise frizz. What’s also fab is that you can use it on dry skin, as a cuticle treatment and even on chapped lips. Sure there are cheaper alternatives that probably do the job just as well, but do they look or smell this good?! (You can’t really pop a jar of coconut oil in your bag either…)

I’m definitely in the mood for darker nights, chillier mornings and deeper shades of makeup – and these transitional autumn beauty gems have definitely got me sorted.

Which have you got your eye on?

Soothing masks become my go-to when it starts to get colder! Really helps my skin from drying out too much because the air can get so harsh in the winter.
