Keep Your Summer Glow A Little Longer With These Top Beauty Picks

Back to school season is upon us and summer holidays are a distant memory; that sunkissed glow you were so proud of in the middle of July has faded away to leave you feeling dull and definitely in need of an exotic getaway – but help is at hand! You don’t need to fly half way around the world to rediscover your summertime glow, thanks to a huge number of beauty treats designed to deliver an effortless radiance and perk up your pasty bits. I’ve picked a handful of my current faves that I know will leave you looking and feeling fabulous, ensuring you can keep your summer glow just a little bit longer…

Erborian Bamboo Glow Dewy Effect Cream (£21.00)
Known for their Korean heritage, Erborian are often the first to bring trends to the UK and don’t shy away from new textures. This lightweight gel features Bamboo Sheath Extract and Bamboo Sap to retain hydration and reinvigorate dull skin, while Butylene Glycol draws moisture from the surrounding atmosphere to plump and minimise the appearance of fine lines; this mixed with a dewy finish that reflects the light delivers a subtle and incredibly natural radiance that looks like you’ve just come back from a mini break in the sun – perfect if you want to keep your summer glow.

Cinch Face Cheat Moisturiser + Glow (£22.00)
A quick and somewhat revolutionary way to apply your moisturiser, this spritz is claims to deliver hydrating, priming and toning properties all in one. Glycerine, Squalane, and Jojoba Esters nourish and hydrate, while Vitamin E provides antioxidant protection against free radical damage; Superox-C also helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles whilst giving skin a luminous, dewy finish. I really love the simplicity of this and how light it is on the face, delivering a hit of hydration without overloading the skin; it’s perfect for traveling, works brilliantly when layered, but it’s the fact you can keep adding moisture throughout the day over your makeup that I love. Not the cheapest, but it’s so multi-purpose and will last an age. (Get free shipping with code VIPSHIP if you fancy it!)

My Lottie London Gloss’d (£4.95)
You can’t beat a glossy slick of colour on the lips, especially when you want to illuminate your face. This gloss-oil hybrid adds a flush of colour alongside shine, without the stickiness or heaviness you often get with a traditional gloss formula; although the scent is sweet with an undertone of plastic (like those freebies you used to get with magazines!) I really like the result – especially in this light coral shade which is perfect for keeping summer alive.

GlamGlow Glow Palette (£32.00)
A trio of highlighters in the most beautiful shades (Nude, Sun and Pearl Glow) this is a palette most covetable. Not only are the powders super silky and enriched with gemstones to beautifully reflect the light, but they also feature Hyaluronic Acid to boost the hydration of skin for a luminous glow from within, alongside Brazilian clay and a Vitalflower Complex to blur imperfections and enhance skin. So they’re much more than a standard highlighter: this is a skincare-makeup hybrid. To be honest you’re not going to apply this all over the face to get much of the added skincare benefit, but it’s always good to know it’s there!

Dr Roebuck’s 2-in-1 Mask + Scrub (£25.00)
Sometimes you just need a hardworking skincare product to leave skin looking fresh and glowing from within; a great base helps makeup to sit better for a more radiant finish, and this works in two ways to deliver fab results in only a few minutes. It targets clogged pores, removes dead skin cells and lifts away impurities thanks to the inclusion of Peppermint Oil, Kaolin and Green Tea extract. Skin feels and looks clearer, without tightness, so you can rest assured that you’ll keep your summer glow well into the next season.

The Body Shop Alow Multi-Use Soothing Gel (£15.00)
Absolutely refreshing and a perfect all over body treat, this soothing gel hydrates skin to restore comfort in even the most sensitive of skins. Use it over your limbs to add a flash of hydration, apply as an intensive face mask, pop on in the morning under makeup or before bed as an overnight treatment – the choice is up to you. But you can’t go wrong when it’s formulated without fragrance, alcohol or colourants.

Bobbi Brown Nude On Nude Eyeshadow Palette (£39.50)
If there was one palette that was made for me then it would be this: beautiful understated shades, a big ole pan of nude base colours and just enough sparkle and shine to brighten eyes day or night. I would genuinely use every single one of these colours, but it’s the hint of metallic that takes a look from everyday to something spectacular – and a hint of that bronze shade around the waterline looks summertime perfect.

Stila Glitter & Glow Highlighter (£25.00)
One for the hardcore glow lovers out there, this liquid sparkle is infused with real chunks of glitter to truly catch the light and make a statement. Although Stila advertise it as a highlight for cheeks, personally I think it’s better as an eyeshadow or worn in the corner of the eye – or even as a lipstick topper if you’re feeling super bold. Festival season may be over, but with this you can cling onto it just a little bit longer.

Caudalie Body & Hair Nourishing Oil (£18.00)
A great multi-functional oil that can be used on body, hair and hands, this smells like a warm summers evening and encapsulates the glow of vacations in a bottle. Enriched with a blend of luxurious plant oils (including Grape Seed, Sesame, Hibiscus and Argan) alongside Shea Butter and anti-oxidant Grape Seed Polyphenols, this lightweight scented texture adds an effortless glow to skin and helps hair to look super shiny. It’s one of those products that just makes you smile and keeps the season alive in your mind every time you pop open the cap. I’m totally here for that!

So if you’re in need of a radiance boost or just want to keep your summer glow, why not give a couple of these a go.

Which have you got your eye on?
