I’ll admit it, I love to shop. The buzz you get when you find a great bargain or an item you know you’ll live in over the coming months is really quite satisfying, especially if you’ve been feeling a bit drab or reaching for the same old thing on a daily basis. Occasionally all you need are a few new bits and pieces to totally change the way you look at closet, and at yourself – and I’m totally down with that. Whether you’ve already been on your summer holiday, are endlessly counting down the days or skipping a trip abroad this year altogether, there’s always a reason to update your wardrobe. With some key hot pieces that are absolutely made for the season, you can breathe life into your closet and step out feeling fabulous… And these are the three items everyone needs this summer!
I’ve professed my love for maxi dresses before, and that adoration remains. Come the summer season I love a floaty maxi to help me feel all tropical and exotic, while actually helping to elongate my body and flatter my curves. What’s great about a maxi is that you don’t have to worry about the rest of your outfit, because the dress does all the talking – and they look just as hot worn on the beach as they do to a wedding. This dress has added ruffles for fun and fanciness, making it a staple for event season.
The humble slider shouldn’t be overlooked, even if it is a wardrobe staple. This effortlessly chic shoe doesn’t have to be boring or basic – this year it’s been reinvented in all number of styles and shades in order to inject some fun into any look. Fab for popping on with everything from a maxi to jeans for comfort and style in one, sliders are my go-to shoe of the season. These yellow ones are even more on-trend thanks to the tassel detail!
You just can’t go wrong with a great basket bag, no matter the size or shape. Incredibly chic and totally effortless, they’re a neutral accessory that goes with everything – so much that even designer names are creating their own designer counterparts. Adding a circle basket bag gives you extra style points, as does taking inspiration from Cult Gaia (but without the price tag!) This statement bag ticks all my boxes and more, plus it’s currently half price in the sale… What more could a girl ask for?
