I often feel like there are more hyped-up beauty products than there are non-hyped ones. Clever marketing tactics, tonnes of influencer reviews and a big old promotional budget can often turn the most basic and boring of makeup items into a supposed holy grail find. I’m not often swayed by the mass hysteria the surrounds new launches or cult brands that hit our shores from the US of A, prefering to put them to the test myself (and more often than not finding myself incredibly underwhelmed,) but sometimes even I’m surprised at what I find. The It Cosmetics ‘Your Skin But Better’ CC Cream has been talked about so much that there are nearly three million hits for it in Google – and with good reason. Because, hands down, I’m pretty sure this is my favourite beauty discovery of the year so far.
Hailed as a ‘one step multitasking beauty miracle,’ the creamy and light reflecting texture helps to instantly minimise the appearance of pores and imperfections. It effortlessly glides over skin and melts into the surface for a flawless finish, leaving my complexion looking and feeling incredibly radiant with very little effort. I started using this as a daytime base, but the results are so good that I’ve been applying it in the evening and when shooting fashion looks too – and I’ve been getting more comments than ever about my skin.
Not only does it also contain SPF50+ to protect against the sun and minimise damage that exacerbates ageing (great if you’re a bit lazy with the sunscreen,) but it helps to colour correct any sallowness or redness for a uniform tone. When using this I need only a touch of concealer to brighten under the
eyes and I’m basically ready to go; I don’t have to worry about
layering, only finishing up with a dusting of powder and bronzer to set
and add warmth to my skin.
Clinically tested and developed with the help of plastic surgeons (random but kinda love it!) the formula helps to increase skin hydration while offering the long-term anti-ageing skincare benefits of hydrolyzed
collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and vitamins. That means you’re getting a double whammy of skincare when you apply your base, so your complexion will look even better the more you use it! That’s the kind of thing I can totally get on board with.
Although it was specifically developed for rosacea, from my experience (and that of fellow blogger and rosacea sufferer Talonted Lex) it doesn’t offer the super heavy coverage that some need – but for what I want, it absolutely nails it. Hands down this has been one of the most used products on my dressing table for months, and I’ll be using it to the very last drop. I even have a backup ready and waiting… And *that’s* how you know much I love it.
