Ten Of The Best Mother’s Day Treats To Show Her How Much You Care

It’s that time of year again, when you take the time out of your busy existence to tell your mum how much she means to you. It can be easy to overlook and under-appreciate such a stable force in your life, but as we approach Mothering Sunday (11th March FYI!) it provides the perfect opportunity to pause and reflect. Whether you’re appreciative of all those 2am pick-ups from the pub, the endless money lent and hangovers nursed, or simply love knowing she’s only at the end of a phone or awaiting your arrival with a cup of tea, our mums are oh so important. If you’re wondering what to pick up as a little token of your love, I’ve got some great suggestions (if I say so myself) to help you on your way.

Anthropologie Espresso Candle (£16.00)
Admittedly I picked this up for myself and it proudly sits on my desk within sniffing distance, but it also makes a great gift for the mum who loves her coffee fix. Surprisingly affordable for Anthropologie, this comes housed in a beautiful ceramic pot that can be re-used after the candle within is burned (that is if she can bear to light it.) It smells utterly beautiful and just like a creamy cup of coffee, adding a subtle aroma to a room without even needing to light the wick.

The Body Shop Personalised Body Butter (£15.00)
Who doesn’t want one of these iconic body butters with their name on? Available in many stores across the UK, this service allows you to pick your butter, design and name before they make it right in front of you. Not only do they smell great and last ages, but they help to soothe tired and dry skin in an instant. A great little token of love that I know every mum would adore.

Bloom & Wild Flower Subscription (From £18.00)
I’m such a flower lover and I’m always coming home with blooms I’ve picked up while popping out for errands, but how lovely would it be to give your mum the gift of greenery all year round? Bloom & Wild offer the most beautiful arrangements that are delivered straight through your letterbox, but they also extend their affordable offering via a subscription service – so your mum will be reminded how much you care once a month for as long as you like. (You can also get £10 off any order here.)

Jo Malone English Mint & Ginger Lip Balm (£20.00)
A little extravagant for a lip balm I know, but if you can’t treat your mum to something completely indulgent once in a while when can you? The scent of this is very subtle and the texture lightly moisturising, while the pot continues the design cues we know and love so well. Every time she pops it out of her bag she’ll be reminded of you…

Pandora Silver Charm Bracelet (£55.00)
If you often struggle with what to buy your mum, giving her a Pandora bracelet is the perfect way to solve the dilemma; these simple pieces of jewellery look elegant and are totally personalisable, so you can keep finding little charms that mean something to her. Why not start a tradition this year and continue it for the foreseable future?

Dr Roebucks Body Lotion (£15.00)
Because sometimes she deserves something a little more pampering than a bottle of Vaseline. A brand hailed from Australia, the packaging is super luxe and a little bit different, meaning it’ll look great on her dresser or in her bathroom. Not only does this hydrate and leave skin feeling pampered, but it also helps to target the signs of ageing; she’ll have limbs you’ll envy in no time.

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Love Love Lipstick (£28.00)
This may be too pretty to actually use, but it’s just so lustworthy mums everywhere would squeal if they found this put in front of them come Mother’s Day. Available in a few different shades of pink and nude, it’s the red that ticks all my boxes – because if you’re going to do a heart shaped lipstick, it may as well be the most powerful shade of rouge you can find. Expensive but 100% worth it.

Tabitha Webb For Avon Zebra Silk Scarf (£15.00)
A bit of a hidden gem on the Avon website, this luxurious silk scarf is fun and totally on-trend; the colours are delicate and the material is beautifully soft, making it a steal at only £15.00. Use it as a neck tie, a hair band or handbag accessory, it makes a statement… There’s even a matching cosmetics case if the design tickles your fancy.

Jo Loves Pomelo Personalised Candle (£70.00)
One for the sophisticated mums who adore the finer things in life, the Jo Loves candles always offer something a little bit special; this Mother’s Day they’re also offering a personalisation service where you can adorn your candle with mum’s own name to make her feel even more special. Pomelo is described as being “inspired by memories of long summer holidays” and the sharp, grapefruit-infused citrus is elegant and uplifting – perfect for stepping into spring and fragrancing her home.

The Happiness Planner (£22.50)
Another gift that keeps on giving, The Happiness Planner has been gaining popularity in the last couple of years thanks to its simple approach to helping you appreciate the little things. The daily journal encourages the user to note down their goals, achievements and small successes – this builds up to ensure positivity and gratitude, as well as way to relfect back on how far you’ve come. A great gift for anyone who could benefit from ten minutes time out a day, or just someone who loves stationary!

To all the mums out there – we salute you!

Lots of love, the kids that will never stop being your kids.

I usually add another charm to my Mum's Pandora bracelet for Mother's Day, but this year I've booked a special afternoon tea for us both to enjoy! There's some lovely inspiration in this post, I'm particularly taken with the zebra scarf – so quirky and fun! x

I love the idea you can have their name put on – I wish more brands did this, and all year round too.
