SPONSORED FEATURE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DOVE
*WIN £250 TO SPEND ON A NEW SUMMER UNDERARM-REVEALING WARDROBE*
Our underarms may not be the sexiest bit of us, but these often neglected delicate areas sure go through some hardcore action on a weekly basis. With 75% of women claiming to shave their underarms twice a week (on top of potentially irritating clothing, gym workouts and so much more) our ‘pits need the same care and attention as any other area of our bodies. Hair removal by shaving, waxing and plucking can leave underarm
skin irritated, stubbly and shadowy – because every time you remove the hair, you’re inevitably also removing a small amount of skin too. And even if you don’t choose or need to shave, the amount of hard work we put them through is enough to need some serious TLC. While an antiperspirant’s primary role is to minimise sweat and odour,
given what our underarm skin goes through it also needs to provide some much
needed care; which is where Dove’s antiperspirants come in.
A brand I’ve been using practically exclusively for over a decade, Dove were the first to include an impressive skin-improving 1⁄4 moisturising cream to their formulations – which means that 25% of the product is made up of moisturising ingredients to nourish and help protect this delicate area of the body. In time for summer their entire antiperspirant range is getting an overhaul, with each variant providing up to 48-hour sweat protection and even more moisturisation; rather excitingly (and uniquely) their products contain the same skincare ingredients as those used in your daily face cream… Because why should we treat this area of the body any differently?
The new products feature three unique types of moisturiser that are more commonly found within luxury skin care formulations. Together these moisturisers therefore lubricate the skin and ensure it’s
working effectively, alongside aiding repair after shaving or other
irritating activity; clinical
trials revealed those using Dove had a recovery time of just three
days, which is much faster than other antiperspirants. Impressive huh? They include:
1. Occlusive oils that sit on the surface and lock in moisture, boosting
the skin’s protective barrier.
2. Humectants that work like
magnets, attracting water from inside and outside the body to keep the skin
3. Active moisturisers, based on the hero ingredient sunflower seed
oil, which are metabolised into fatty acids to boost
the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
With 20 years of research and development within the antiperspirants category, combined with skincare science harnessed from their body care range, Dove has improved their formulations to create an innovative range of spray, roll-on and stick antiperspirants to meet your every need. In consumer trials, 98% of women who normally use competitor antiperspirants agreed that the skin care provided by the new Dove formula was better than their usual product; that’s hard to argue with! Available in seven different varieties, these also provide a hit of beautiful fragrance to brighten your day… Which would you choose?

To celebrate the launch of this new range and Dove’s unique technology (which allows us all to take care of and therefore have confidence in revealing our underarms,) we’ve teamed up to offer one lucky person £250 to spend on a new summer underarm-revealing wardrobe – as well as the entire range of Dove antiperspirants. We want you to look through existing photos of yourself where your underarms are out and in action; it could be that you’re dancing with your hands in the air, posing on holiday by the pool, celebrating a successful workout at the gym or simply having fun with your mates. Once you’ve found your fave, tweet me (@LBQblog) and Dove (@DoveUK) using the hashtag #RealUnderarms and let me know how that pic makes you feel. Don’t feel underarm ready right now? (You need some Dove love!) Then just tweet me your thoughts about your underarms – whether that’s the fact you’re committing to looking after them more, that you embrace your natural body hair, or that lifting your arms makes you feel like you’re at your happiest. (Don’t forget the hashtag!) I’ll be sharing them throughout the next week or so, and we’ll pick our favourite picture or comment to win the £250 high street voucher and complete range of Dove products. Simples.
Here’s to an underarm-revealing summer season and ‘pits that feel good all year round!
