So many new products pass by my desk on a daily basis that it’s rare for me to become incredibly excited about one single eyeshadow palette – but when I saw a sneaky preview of what’s to come from Givenchy this Autumn I couldn’t help but turn into an actual heart-eye emoji. Inspired by the superhero movies and original comic books that are seeing a huge resurgence in popularity right now, the Autumn ‘Superstellar’ collection injects a touch of fun into a brand that could have been taken all too seriously until this point. With lipstick shades to come including a green ‘The Hulk’ and iconic ‘Heroic Red’, this is sure to appeal to those with a hidden geeky side as much as those with just a general passion for makeup; the link is subtle so as not to overshadow the fact that they’re undeniably good products, but the hero is undoubtedly this beautiful star-shaped eyeshadow palette that’s almost too pretty to use.
Featuring a beautiful hero shade of silver, a deep yet wearable purple and a subtle beige, together they offer up a beautiful way to spice up your usual Autumn look. As would be expected, the textures and payoff are fab, allowing you to create a great alternative to the usual grey and black smokey eyes we’re used to seeing this time of year. I love the fact that the shadows feature a very understated amount of shimmer, which is perfectly complemented by the beautiful casing that makes an otherwise run-of-the-mill collection completely lustworthy. Interestingly the outer packaging has been designed to look a little like Wonder Woman’s belt, but it’s so subtle that if you didn’t know the story (or anything about superheroes) it would just look like a limited edition trio of shadows – and that’s what’s so great about it. Although this isn’t actually available until Autumn, I couldn’t wait to show you what’s to come… I’m not one to usually wish away the summer months, but if this first look at what’s to come is anything to go by then I can’t wait for the leaves to turn brown.
The Givenchy Superstellar eyeshadow palette will be available this autumn. Currently no price or stockist information available, but I’ll update when I have it.
