Perfect Pores? Three Great Blurring & Skin Perfecting Products From Deciem

No longer is it enough just to wack on some foundation and a dusting of powder over the surface of skin; now if we want to achieve the ultimate definition of flawless, there’s a whole new repertoire of products to introduce into our routines. From contouring and highlighting, blurring and pore refining, there now seems to be a million different ways to achieve a practically airbrushed finish at home. However, from my experience a lot of the products are a bit of a faff to use, leave an uncomfortable film on the skin, don’t mix with makeup or simply don’t last the whole day. If you like the idea of creating a uniformed finish that looks right out of the pages of the magazine, then these three little products could hold the secret; from the scientific geniuses over at Deciem, together they offer a portfolio of skin perfecting additions that are easy to use, effective and long-lasting. Deciem are known for pushing boundaries, challenging the norm, discovering new ingredients, revolutionizing our routines and creating concoctions that are inevitably copied throughout the beauty industry – and this trio is that idea encapsulated. These could be the secret to perfect pores…

1. Hylamide HA Blur Prismatic Blurring Surface Hydrator (£19.00)

This innovative formula can either be used as a traditional primer, or applied delicately over the surface of makeup to perfect certain areas of the face. If you’ve tried and loathed other surface ‘blurring’ products, then don’t worry – this is incredibly light and mixes with makeup perfectly to leave nothing but an enhanced complexion. Uniquely formulated with a completely new Hyaluronic Acid in powder form (you’ll notice a slight powdery texture when it dries,) this both hydrates and blurs imperfections simultaneously; the science behind it is that this new form of Hyaluronic Acid (exclusive to Deciem) forms tiny little prism spheres which refract light and help to lock in moisture, meaning it’s much more than just an essential skincare ingredient. I love the delicate apple scent, the velevety smooth texture and the way it totally blurs the appearance of a little collection of pores on one side of my nose.

2. Hylamide Photography Foundation Golden Tan (£19.00)

A ‘next-generation transparent foundation’ that’s designed specifically to make the skin look better for the camera lens, while blurring away imperfections in real life, this is definitely one for the selfie lovers! Nano fractions of silica-based prisms confuse the light for reduced lines and pores instantly, while super-fine colour correctors black out unwanted tones to create a more uniformed complexion. Not only does it add a subtle golden glow to skin and help create a healthy looking complexion (thanks to the bronzing tint,) but it’s clinically proven to offer hydration for up to 48 hours after each application. You can apply it directly onto skin after you’ve applied your skincare routine, or add a couple of drops into your base for a ‘you but better’ result. A great one if you don’t have any specific areas of concern, but just want to look a bit healthier and perfected on a daily basis.

3. Hylamide Pore Delete Instant Surface Perfector  (£18.00)

First up, you only need this if you have serious pore issues – if there are just a niggly few, or you’re not that fussed, then opt for one of the other two above that subtly tackle pores while helping to perfect the surface of skin. This is an ultra-concentrated formula with low-viscosity liquid prisms that offer instant maximum-strength visible blurring of pores, shine and fine lines; it’s not recommended for very dry skin or for those without prominent pores or congestion, as it essentially creates a lightweight film that follows the contours of the face. It diffuses light in many directions at once, allowing the effect of the prisms in this formulation to be more even and natural-looking; it also reduces visible inflammation and redness both instantly and over time, thanks to the inclusion of Tasmanian Mountain Pepper. In a nutshell – this stuff works. It’s hardcore and totally transforms the look of skin’s texture, but it’s definitely only one of those products to use if you genuinely need it.

With these three skin treats we’ll have your pores perfected in no time at all. Which has caught your eye?

Hylamide products are available from Boots, as well as via the Deciem website, priced from £18.00.
