This week I’ve decided to pop up all my Christmas gift related posts up in one hit, in an effort to be both helpful and concise. Nobody wants a wittering blogger that goes on about festive beauty ideas for three months in the run-up to the big day, but equally I know you collectively get a little bit excited about discovering what could potentially be the best gift ever for a loved one. The beauty industry gets more and more innovative every year, developing new ways to harness our love for lipstick and nail varnish; this year beauty baubles seem to be the emerging trend and an incredibly popular way of showing you care. They’re affordable, festive and double-up as tree decorations too – what more could you want from a Christmas treat? Ciate may have started this trend a couple of years ago with their Tree Trinkets, but this year it’s the turn of fragrance, skincare and even lipbalm brands to get in on the action. Here are some of my favourite beauty baubles that make perfect stocking fillers, tree treats, Secret Santa gifts or just a little something to open yourself on Christmas morning.
1. Ghost Fragrance 10ml Bottle (£5.00)
An absolute bargain, these cute transparent baubles contain a mini 10ml sample of either the original Ghost fragrance, Ghost Eclipse (pictured) or Ghost Girl. Not only do they look super special thanks to their glittery transparent bauble containers, but the mini samples are incredible cute – as well as being practical. It’s a great way to introduce a loved one to a new scent, or gift them with something you already know they’ll love.
2. Molton Brown Shower Gel (£10.00)Available in a huge selection of some of the most iconic scents, including this festively appropriate Frankincese & Allspice, these baubles come packed in a little box for safe keeping. They may be a bit too heavy to hang off your tree, but they’ll definitely give the corner of your bathroom a Christmas makeover! If you can’t quite stretch to a full bottle of Molton Brown, this is a more affordable alternative.
3. Sabon Christmas Body Treats (£22.00)
Including a mini shower oil and body cream, because of its price point this bauble is definitely more of an indulgent gift than an impulse purchase. Their body products are utterly divine and made with some incredible ingredients, so this is a great intro to the brand if the recipient has never tried it before. The bauble actually doubles up as a great little trinket tin too, which I’m sure will be put to good use throughout 2016.
4. Burt’s Bees Classic Lip & Hand Tin (£4.65)
I’m addicted to Burt’s Bees lipbalms; their lightweight and hardworking formula is incredibly effective and an utter pleasure to use. This tree decoration includes one of their classic beeswax lipbalm sticks, as well as a little pot of hardworking hand salve. It’s a great price and contains universally appealing products – even the men in your life would love this in their stocking!
5. L’Occitane Shea Butter Gifts (£10.00)
This little metal tin is bursting with mini Shea Butter treats – including soap, hand cream, body cream and shower lotion. It’s one of their most popular ranges for a reason, thanks to its ultra nourishing properties, so I’m fully expecting this to sell like hotcakes this December. It’s such a good price considering you get four minis and a cute keepsake tin, so snap it up while you can.
6. Mavala Sparkling Nail Varnish (£5.00)
Now these *are* perfect for hanging on the tree – thanks to the mini glittery bottles of polish inside the transparent baubles. Available in green, red, silver and multi colours, these are brilliant stocking fillers or cute gifts to leave on your tree for when your guests pop round. Because we all like mini things a bit too much more than we should…
Are you a fan of beauty baubles? Will you be stocking up on any of these, or others, ahead of Christmas day?
