Discovering Elizabeth Grant Skincare & The Power Of The Ocean (Plus WIN With Ideal World TV’s Bank Holiday Bonanza!)

What I love most about my job is that I get to discover great brands and great stories on a daily basis. The latest fascinating story to really capture my imagination is that of Elizabeth Grant, a premium range of skincare products that incorporate a combination of natural sea vitamins, nutrients and minerals. The founder of the brand, the super glamorous Elizabeth Grant, did not always have the flawless skin she has today. Damaged during the Second World War, her skin was a constant source of personal shame and embarrassment – to the point where she avoided going out in public and living her life fully. All of that changed in 1948 when Elizabeth discovered a natural substance that was used to treat war wounds; she had it specially formulated with other ingredients and began applying it to her damaged skin. Gradually, but very noticeably, the transformation occurred. Within eight months, Elizabeth’s skin had improved remarkably. And there the brand’s story began…

In her work as a makeup artist some time later, one of her clients complimented her on her skin’s fresh, healthy and youthful appearance. Flattered, Elizabeth told her client about the cream she had created. The woman left with a sample, only to return 10 days later asking for more; her clogged pores and tired skin was being replaced with a glowing complexion. After realising the huge potential of this wonder product she’d inadvertently created, in 1958 Elizabeth launched her own skin care treatment line, ignoring the status quo and embarking on a rather controversial journey as a woman on her own in business. Nearly sixty years later and it’s still going strong.

Within the heart of her products lies Torricelumn, an ingredient which is extracted from the sea’s own forests. The kelp leaves are lifted to the ocean’s surface, allowing them to absorb sunlight and oxygen – the source of life and energy. It is this nutrient rich kelp that’s bonded together with biologically active substances to form Elizabeth Grant’s patented Torricelumn ingredient that’s worked so wonderously for nearly sixty years. Brand New to Ideal World, her latest products called ‘Supreme With Gold’ include a day, night and eye serum, as well as a
lifting and firming cream and essence of Torricelumn. Supreme with Gold takes the Elizabeth Grant range to a higher level: gold provides excellent
anti-oxidant benefits, while helping to illuminate and brighten the
appearance of the skin, making it the perfect addition to her successful skincare line.

The Revitalising Day Serum helps to protect, rejuvenate and nourish skin that is suffering from dullness and lines; the Renewal Night Serum with Gold helps improve the skin firmness whilst also revitalising, reviving and smoothing the skin; the Victory Eye Serum helps lift and energise the delicate eye area, while the gold extract formulation helps strengthen skin which helps make the skin appear to have more bounce and vitality. The Supreme Wrinkle Lifting and Firming Concentrate helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin, whilst improving the elasticity and firmness. The Supreme Essence of Torricelumn contains the most purest, concentrated form of Torricelumn; it helps reduce lines and wrinkles, dryness, uneven skin tone and dullness, making it perfect to use once or twice a day after before moisturising. Together they provide a simple, effective and affordable skincare regime that’s a pleasure to use.

All five of the new products are held in a gel-like texture, minimising residue and allowing you to layer up products on the skin with ease. Immediately after use my face feels plump and hydrated, reducing the need for a thick moisturiser or heavy night cream to ensure skin is left looking glowing. Although there is some stickiness, a layer of primer and foundation completely eradicates any feeling and works with the products – rather than against them. I love the look of the packs and the simplicity of the range; I’m slightly baffled as to why Elizabeth Grant isn’t more well known this side of the world, especially as it’s so successful in the US and beyond, but maybe we’re about to change things..!
