Bobbi Brown Launches The Greige Collection: Sounds Drab, But Really Is Fab

I’d only been saying in the days prior that the last few Bobbi Brown collections and launches have left me feeling underwhelmed and a little disappointed – only for a brand new selection of products to land on my desk and get me excited once more. I’ve become somewhat bored of the same old nudes, lacklustre beige palettes and new lipstick shades that have been done a million times before, but with the new Greige collection comes a wearable portfolio of tones and innovative textures that’s perfect for the transition into the next season. Although there are new lip products and nail varnishes hitting counters soon, it’s the beautiful eyeshadow palette and Intense Pigment Eye Liner that’s appealing to my inner smokey eye addict. (Yes, those little packs are actually liners!) Whoop for Bobbi Brown.

If you’re fan of the Urban Decay Naked or Naked Smoky palette then the Greige Eye Palette offers up a great alternative that’s also handbag and travel friendly. Featuring two base shades, four greige shadows that look fab when buffed into the eye, a strong grey colour and shimmering brown, all the tones are completely wearable and complimentary. The soft touch pack and metallic trim, as well as the large mirror and magnetic close, make the £52.00 price tag marginally less painful – even if it is totally lustworthy. However, the Intense Pigment Eye Liner (£26.50) provides much better value thanks to the inclusion of three different shades. Formulated with pure pigment, without fillers or binders, the result is extremely powerful and perfect for lining the eye; you can buff the colour out from the lash line for a smokey finish, apply wet for a more intense result or even mix with a gel eyeliner for a more striking look. I love the inclusion of the rusty red (which is really on-trend for autumn,) as well as the jade green which will help eyes to pop.

It’s great to see something a little different from Bobbi Brown (finally) that actually gets me excited about the brand again. Seeing as Bobbi herself is so passionate, vibrant and full of life, I’m not sure why the last few collections have been so bland. We all love a nude pink every so often, but when it’s released time and time again it won’t cause a stampede to the nearest counter. All hail the greige.

What do you think of the new Greige collection from Bobbi Brown that’s hitting stores this September?

The cool tones in the palate will make it amazing for autumn come winter!! I'm most intrigued by the eyeliner palates as I've never seen anything like them before. I love the rustic red colour so will defiantly pick it up as it also has a slightly more affordable price tag than the eyeshadow palette Ruby

The price tag hurts my soul a bit, but this palette looks so stunning. I'm also really intrigued by the eyeliner, having never been much of a fan before I could definitely see myself getting into the grey and red shades.www.shortsoul.comx

These have got to one of the best new releases I've seen lately. The liners sound perfect for me . In general and because of the shape of my eyes I tend to only use colour along my upper and lower lashes. I mainly use eyeshadows from various palettes or crayons to do that job and they don't always have the staying power. Yes the price is a bit of a stinger but a decent product that will get used a lot is worth it.
