The New Cream-To-Powder Blushers From Sleek That Are Definitely Better Than NARS

The thought of blusher used to stir up connotations of vintage ladies, English Rose complexions and a matte finish that somewhat aged the wearer. However, a flush of colour on the cheeks can update your look and provide an incredibly modern twist – if you get the texture and tone just right. Although I love premium brands, when it comes to the strength of their colours they sometimes fall a little short; it’s often the more affordable names that develop a product to be reckoned with, which is exactly what’s happened with Sleek’s newest cream-to-powder blush. Available in six bold tones and packaged in the exact same compact as NARS, these £5.99 bargains are definitely top of my list for summer.

These richly creamy blushers are incredibly pigmented, transforming from a soft cream to a light powdery texture upon application with the skin. The silky, long-wearing formula glides on smoothly for a soft and comfortable finish that’s easy to blend, buff and build; it mixes just as well with a heavy foundation as it does with a lightweight BB cream or naked skin. Although the colours are quite scry in the pan, the buffing benefit of a stippling brush will ensure you only apply the amount you need – taking care to use only a small quantity at any one time.

As someone that likes to wear a touch of powder to finish my look and keep it in place, these work brilliantly to add depth and contrast to my look without feeling heavy. The stunning hues cover a range of tones – from soft pink to warm coral and fuchsia – that will brighten and flatter all complexions; the key is to play about with the colours you don’t think will suit you and pick out the ones that actually do! I love a coral or peachy tone in the summer as it’s a lot more delicate (plus blends with bronzer brilliantly,) while the bolder pinks work great with a sunkissed glow and freckles.

I do like the NARS blushers, but find it can be quite hard to get the colour I require from the pan; their powdery finishes also aren’t great for the warmer months, as the texture has a tendendy to just melt away. These are long-lasting and stay put all day long, even in stifling heat (I’ve tested them!) so I’m amazed that these are only £5.99 each. They’re cheap enough to justify a multiple purchase, whilst fooling people into thinking you’ve picked up a NARS blush on your lunchbreak! Bonus.

What do you think of these new Sleek blushers? Are you a fan of their colour cosmetics?

The new Sleek Cream-To-Powder blushers are available now, in six shades, priced £5.99 each. Pick them up in Superdrug and Boots stores nationwide, or online.

I need to try these! The price is great, they look like they have more product in than the Bourjois cream blushes. It's also a bonus that they are a cream formula as NARS seem to have discontinued their cream blusher line. XxTania |

Yeah I always forget – but when I swatch everything together it's more to show off the pigment and texture; you shouldn't really shop from a swatch!
