Clinique ‘Pop Lip’ Colour & Primer: Wearable Lipstick With Longevity & Comfort

Lipstick can completely transform an outfit or an outlook, helping to lift the complexion and instantly make you feel ready to rock. Although applying that first swipe is a pleasure, the texture of most lipsticks dries to leave lips feeling less than hydrated; topping up over already compromised lips can be somewhat of a challenge. Not particularly known for their lipsticks, Clinique have listened to consumer demands and developed a range of sixteen lipsticks that offer a serious colour result with the added benefit of shea butter. These super cute bullets apply dreamily to leave lips coated in pigment with a touch of shine, simultaneously offering longevity thanks to ‘primer’ technology that helps colour last for longer. If you’ve ever struggled with lipstick, then these new offerings could be a great first step into a new arena.

I adore the colour coordinated packs and the modern branded caps, taking the brand into a more youthful place and appealing to a much younger audience – their other lipsticks do look a little naff and old fashioned, having not changed much since I was first introduced to them fifteen years ago. They’re easy to apply and offer a great colour result with little effort required, the colour containing a hint of shine for really kissable lips. With the added benefit of a primer, these do last longer than a lot of my other lipsticks by slightly staining the lips – they’re also a lot easier to re-apply and don’t drag over the surface. At £16.00 these aren’t cheap as chips, but they are a great introduction into lipstick and a worthwhile purchase if you struggle with keeping colour in place all day long. Will you be hunting these down when they launch into store next week?

The new Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer lipsticks are priced £16.00 and available in 16 shades. They launch next week into Boots and on April 17th nationwide. I’m wearing shade 08 Cherry Pop above.

These are super duper pretty. I love the simple packaging which makes me think of little cubes of jelly (probs an association with their Chubby Stick ads) the colours are gorgeous too, definitely want to check out some of the vibrant shades from the range.
