NEW From Sally Hansen: Velvet Texture & Luxe Lace Nail Polish

Although the high street is full to the brim with pretty pastel shades (ahead of the forthcoming ‘spring’ season, that’s actually three days in duration just before we hit July,) I’m not quite ready to give up the dark and moody shades that have seen me through the colder months. These latest launches from Sally Hansen tick every box for me whilst remaining perfectly on-trend for when the weather finally turns. Velvet Texture and Luxe Lace provide fabulous additions to your nail varnish repertoire, working as either a statement look or touch of something different on one or two chosen talons. Together they really help to ‘change up’ your nail looks without going crazy and channeling your inner Lily Allen. (How does she get anything done with those pointy weapons?)

‘Velvet Texture’ provides a rich, matte and slightly textured nail that
oozes sophistication and creates the look of velvet – without excessive
fuzz. It dries exceptionally quickly and helps to conceal any ridges or
imperfections, making this trio a great investment if you’re suffering
from flaking and breaking nails during the cold snap. Available in three shades (a beautifully rich wine-berry-burgundy tone, bright blue-purple and classic coal black,) the result on the nail is really quite fabulous and perfectly suited to the ‘bridging’ season when we’re not quite ready to give up the dark tones, but want to reach for something a little different.

In addition, ‘Luxe Lace’ is essentially a non-glittery topcoat that helps to create the look of ‘lace’ when applied over a similar tone of polish. Available in blue, white or black, these provide different sized pops of colour and texture to nails that can be built up for a stylish finish. Unlike many other topcoats that contain six different colours and a tonne of glitter, these are much more ‘adult appropriate’ and provide a touch of texture without overloading the nail with flaky bits. I love the look of the black Luxe Lace over the berry shade, but the white version also looks fab over a nude tone of polish for spring.

Together these trios provide a great alternative to the usual nail collections, helping you to mix and match texture while shaking up your current nail routine; at £6.99 each you can afford to treat yourself too! Are you a fan of textured nails? Are you excited to try these six new polishes?

The Sally Hansen ‘Velvet Texture’ and ‘Luxe Lace’ polishes are available now in Boots stores nationwide, priced £6.99 each.

I was just looking at these yesterday and have been thinking about trying them. Then this post shows up! Ha ha! Weird. I'm intrigued by the Luxe Lace ones and I agree…I'm still doing dark and bold nails. Not ready for pastels yet.:)
