Each year L’Occitane launch a product to pay tribute to the women of Burkina Faso (the African region where Shea Butter was discovered over 30 years ago) and to mark International Women’s Day on March 8th. In 2015 it’s the turn of a new Ultra Soft Balm, which contains 96% Shea Butter sourced directly from the region. This incredibly lightweight and nourishing balm offers hydration and comfort for chapped lips, dry skin and unsightly cuticles – among other things – as well as containing beeswax, sunflower oil and Vitamin E. The great news is that 100% of the profits made from this multitasking tin will be used to support projects and the economic emancipation of women in the Burkina Faso area, so you can look fab and know you’re doing good for others too.
The delicate apricot scent is truly yummy, while the texture of the balm ensures it’s easy to use and melts onto lips to leave them looking slightly glossy. You can even work the balm into dry patches of skin, cuticles, hands and cheekbones for a dewy finish, making it a handbag essential and great for traveling; it’s a fab multi-tasking product and much more size friendly than a massive tube of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. Considering it’s only £4.00 and totally grease free, there’s no reason why you can’t grab one for every one of your female friends and family members on March 8th to celebrate how awesome they all are. I know I will be…
The L’Occitane Ultra Soft Beauty Balm launches this March, priced £4.00. All profits will be donated to promote women’s entrepreneurship in Africa.
