Tasty, Glossy Lips: Smashbox ‘Be Legendary’ Long-Lasting Lip Lacquer

I adore the power that a slick of lipstick brings, but half way through the day I inevitably regret my choice as my pout becomes dry and the colour fades away. Glosses are great at adding a touch of shine to lips and subtly bringing a look together, but they’re super sticky and wear off often within minutes. This new launch from Smashbox provides the best of both worlds, coating lips in a powerful colour that’s glossy without being sticky and long-lasting without being drying; ‘Be Legendary’ long-lasting lip lacquer contains the maximum amount of pigment Smashbox could squeeze in for serious impact, paired with comforting Vitamin E and glossy-finish pearls.

You can see from the swatches that these lacquers provide a fabulous colour result that sits on lips perfectly. The applicator coats lips well to leave a smooth finish, without overloading lips or causing too much transference as soon as you sip on a cup of coffee. The lighter shades are a great alternative to a nude lipstick or gloss, but the darker tones actually slightly stain lips to provide a very subtle tint even when the gloss has worn away. Although the tubes are quite small considering their £19.00 price point, I really like the formula and the fact that the lacquers bridge a gap to provide wearable colour all day long. They do have a tendency to ‘sit’ in the lines of cracked lips or cling onto dry patches, so I would definitely recommend a touch of balm underneath and regular exfoliation, but these are a definite winner for me and a new gloss to slip into my bag when I want to make an impact.

What do you think of these new Be Legendary Long-Lasting Lip Lacquers?

The Smashbox Be Legendary Long-Lasting Lip Lacquers are available in 18 shades, priced £19.00 each and are available online and in department stores.

That red.. so vibrant! I like the fact that these have very little transference onto cups – I hate it when I'm drinking and my lipstick disappears with every sip. Might try it out.www.coquettishmish.com

I've seen them quite a few times and debated whether to pick them up or not. I am a huge fan of lipsticks (especially the ones from MAC) and I love to get a good dose of colour out of my lip products. I am not a huge fan of the glossy/sheer finish of most glosses so I decided each time to pass. Now that I see how pigmented they are, I'm definitely not going to resist! Love their range of colour and the "easy to bring in your handbag" format! xoMD | http://byourbself.blogspot.ca/

They look amazing, especially the lighter shade but I don't know if I would pay £19 for it…they just look really small. xFARFROMPERFECTIONXO

The pigment looks great on your hand! I wasn't a huge fan of smashbox as I have their foundation but these look a better choice xLeannewinters.blogspot.co.uk

Much more wearable formula – the Rimmel ones tend to dry out lips I find.

I actually got a chance to try a mini of the coral colour recently and was super surprised- Smashbox isn't a brand that normally impresses me. I'll be taking a look to see if any other shades appeal to me.

The red gloss is gorgeous. I always prefer a gloss to a lipstick. x

These look amazing! I want to try them. I think the same as you on the lipstick front. I always wear a lipstick then worry about it smudging or leaving a little line around the lips! Lovely post makes me want to buy them all! http://bellamomento.blogspot.co.ukxxx
