Real Techniques ‘Bold Metals’ Collection: Luxurious Makeup Brushes

Since their launch a couple of years ago, the Real Techniques makeup brushes have developed somewhat of a ‘cult like’ status. They’re a staple within millions of makeup bags across the globe, a beauty blogger favourite and seriously effective. Considering their reasonable price point, it’s no surprise that they’ve become a huge success and a great little earner for the Pixiwoo sisters behind them. Sam and Nic are experienced makeup artists that know what they like; Real Techniques embodies their mantra, passions, techniques and lessons learned from working professionally over the years, helping makeup enthusiasts like you and me to get the most from their products. In 2015 Real Techniques have caused quite the stir on social media by announcing the launch of their extravagant and elegant ‘Bold Metals’ collection of brushes that take makeup tools to a new level.

Featuring on-trend rose gold, classically opulent dusty gold and stylish pewter, the collection consists of seven different brushes that cover bases, finishing products and eyes. Like their classic collection, these new ‘Bold Metals’ brushes are colour coded for ease of use to ensure you know which performs best where. The brushes themselves are utterly lust-worthy, featuring just a simple ‘RT’ logo and embossed brush number on the reverse; the handles are actually tapered to create a square at the end, which makes them easy to grip and use effectively. The bristles are super soft and incredibly dense, providing all the support you need to pick up and apply product with ease; the face brush is light and fluffy, the blush brush is perfectly angled to perfect cheekbones and the eye brush can be used to blend and contour multiple shades.

Exclusively available in Boots right now, prices range from £10.00 to £25.00 – it’s clear that these are rather more indulgent than the standard Real Techniques range, but they’re truly beautiful and are well worth a new year splurge. The seven current brushes include three eye, two contouring, one foundation and a powder brush… Thankfully there’s plenty of room for the range to expand and continue to add a touch of luxury to our morning routine. Although you can get your hands on equally as effective brushes for half of the price, what you do get with this divine collection of ‘Bold Metals’ is a brush you can treasure and look after. (What more of an incentive do you need to keep your makeup brushes clean!) Are you a fan of these new brushes from Real Techniques?

The Real Techniques ‘Bold Metals’ Collection is available exclusively from Boots. (You can also get them online – reserve and collect in store for free!)

These look amazing but I wish that I could touch the brushes and feel them properly before purchase. At the higher price point, I think that's a must.Ting |

I think they are gorgeous but they are just too expensive for me! I know they are weighted and they are softer, but I'm not sure that makes them worth twice the price! I'm a bit of a RT addict though, I wonder if I'll eventually cave or not!Stephanie xxxx

I really want to try the contour brush from this collection, they are abit pricey for their brand but I wouldn't buy every brush so the one or two I do get will be ones I will definitly use; plus the rose gold is just too pretty!

Personally I think the price point is too high as they aren't an established luxury brand xx Magpie Jasmine || Palette Giveaway: Urban Decay, Nars, Charlotte Tilbury, Too Faced

These are on my wish list. But for someone who already own the Real Techniques brushes, is there a need to get these? Are they really different?

I do love the look of these (who wouldn't? they're beautiful!) and have already picked out a couple I would love to try but as they are a little pricier than the standard RT range I don't think I'll be able to afford them for a while yet x Becky @ The Little Blog of Beauty
