It’s well documented that honey is one of nature’s power players, providing antibacterial properties and an injection of antioxidants to ensure our bodies perform at their best. The beauty industry has been adopting the ingredient for some time, but in 2015 Lipstick Queen are putting their own twist on the evolving trend with the launch of Queen Bee. Oozing with nourishing ingredients to soothe, repair and hydrate the delicate skin of the lips, Queen Bee is a treatment with a difference. Enriched with Royal Jelly (a nourishing active that
replenishes moisture,) as well as chamomile and sunflower extract to help
to soothe and heal, this little golden bullet can help care for dry lips a little more glamorously thanks to its moisture-rich formulation.
The bullet glides over lips to lace them with a soothing and cooling lightweight texture. Not only does the lip treatment contain a delicious honey scent, but it also includes a delicate bronze gold finish which just adds a touch of shimmer and shine; the result is subtle, but one which ensures lips look healthy and kissable. Although I wouldn’t recommend this for super dry or chapped lips (investing in a more targeted and intense treatment will be both more effective and affordable) it’s great to replace a traditional balm or add a touch of shimmer to nude lips when you want your eye makeup to do the talking. Similarly, you can also use Queen Bee over a lip stain or blotted lipstick to provide lips with a hit of moisture, inject comfort and provide an understated shimmer.
Lipstick Queen were one of my ‘brands to watch in 2015’ and they’re already delivering on that promise. I love that they’ve identified a need that’s prominent with lipstick wearers (no matter how nourishing the lipstick, if you wear it a lot you’ll end up with dry lips that require some pampering) and developed an innovative product to ensure their customers still shop within their reportoire. I adore the scent, I love the delicate shimmer and the packaging injects a touch of glamour into my lip balm collection. At £20.00 Queen Bee is still somewhat an investment, but for fans of Lipstick Queen this will no doubt be top of their list this Spring.
Lipstick Queen’s NEW Queen Bee lip treatment will be available in February priced £20.00.
