Great For A Spring Glow: Bobbi Brown Brightening Shimmer Bricks

If you’re a fan of the classic Bobbi Shimmer Bricks, that provide a combination of bronzing and highlighting within a subtle portfolio of colour, then you’ll love their Brightening Bricks that work on the same concept but help to add a touch of flush to the face. Available in six different shade combinations, each palette contains six individual complementary tones that can be used individually or together for a natural finish. From a delicate pink, to a shimmery nude, peachy bronze and deep summer glow tone, there’s something for every stage of your seasonal skin. Although the pretty pattern does start to disappear after the first use, underneath is a pan of shades that really work together to create a healthy spring glow without overdoing the need for colour – these provide just a flush of something beautiful.

I’m currently loving these for adding a springtime glow to cheeks without overloading my complexion with blush. Sometimes it looks so much better to add an understated touch of colour rather than contouring to excess, especially during the daytime when it’s bleak outside and you’re wrapped up in ten layers. As you’d expect, the texture of the Brightening Bricks is divine – they feel incredibly soft and work really well on the skin to blend in with your base. At £34.50 each they’re certainly not cheap and not necessarily something you’d want to splurge on this side of payday, but they are pretty and they make a fabulous little indulgence to treat yourself to something for getting through January in one piece. As a general rule I’d also suggest opting for a slightly different shade to your normal blush, adding a different colour combination into your repertoire – you’d be surprised which tones work with your own complexion, especially because the six shades are blended together to provide a much more understated result.

What do you think of these Brightening Bricks? Are you a fan of the Shimmer Brick original?

The Bobbi Brown Brightening Shimmer Bricks are available in six shades, priced £34.50 each.

I was a bit scared to try the original Shimmer Bricks from Bobbi Brow because of that shimmering aspect. But those look absolutely incredible and right up my alley! Another product to add to my Sephora shopping list.. xoMD |
