Ensure Your Eyes Sparkle This Christmas, With NEW 1-Day Acuvue Define Contact Lenses

They say that our eyes are the window to our soul; a simple glance has the power to reveal so much more than the spoken word. As a nation we spend millions of pounds on beauty products helping to enhance the eye and create a perfect flutter; from eye drops to mascara and eyeshadow to liner, the focus is always placed on creating a gaze that lingers. Now the answer to beautiful sparkling eyes may have finally arrived, with the launch of new 1-Day Acuvue Define Lenses for contact lens wearers. Already a hugely established beauty category in Asia (where beauty lenses are worn by a staggering 3.6 million women,) these innovative lenses have been created especially for the Western eye, and are set to become a beauty staple here too.

This new category in contact lens design adds brightness to ensure your eyes sparkle and shine, providing definition between the iris and the white of the eye for a stunning result. The unique iris-inspired design accentuates the natural radiance of the eyes, while a combination of light effect patterns helps brighten their appearance. Available in either ‘sparkle’ with green/blue tints and ‘shimmer’ with bronze definition, the design has been inspired by the anatomy of the natural iris and a defining dark outer ring, ensuring it blends seamlessly with the wearer’s natural eye. Definitely not just another coloured lens, these are something a little bit special and can be integrated into your daily routine as seamlessly as a normal contact lens. We wear makeup around the eye to define and create impact, so this is just taking it one step further and ensuring every eye can sparkle in the run-up to Christmas.

I went along to Boots in Piccadilly in order to try the lenses for myself and pick up a supply to get me through the party season. The lenses can be used just as a normal lens and come packaged in exactly the same way – you simply pop them in and reap the benefits of eyes with incredible definition. I was instantly astounded at the very real and dramatic difference they made to the impact of my eyes, even with bright blue irises that often get complemented. The ‘sparkle’ design adds a luminous, brightening effect that really helps the colour of my eyes to pop, while the ‘shimmer’ version adds depth and intensity than ensures my eyes are super blue and can hold any gaze. It’s well worth having a try of both, whatever your iris colour, to see the results and definition for yourself; both can add a touch of something special, so it’s just up to your personal preference to choose which works for you.

So the 1-Day Acuvue Define lenses are definitely the first step in ensuring your eyes sparkle this Christmas, but what else can you do to ensure your peepers are looking preened and perfect? Here are my top three ways of ensuring your eyes are the focus of your look, without piling on the makeup or gluing falsies across your lashline…

1. Highlight Your Under Eye
The most important step in ensuring your eyes look fabulous is concealing any dark circles and reflecting the light away from sallowness. Rather than rubbing heavy concealers into skin, delicately pat and dab lightweight formulas into the crease to ensure a subtle finish that really looks radiant. I love Clarins Instant Concealer, Bare Minerals Touch of Light and (of course) YSL Touche Eclat for perfecting skin and covering dullness.

2. Line With White
A little white pencil can be your best friend when you want your eyes to sparkle. Lining the inner corners of both eyes helps not only to make the whites of eyes to pop, but it ensures you look wide awake. It’s my best kept beauty secret for when I want to look my best on little sleep; the same effect can be created with a touch of white eyeshadow too. My personal favourites include Essence, Rimmel and Collection for a workable formula that stays put.

3. Add A Touch Of Shimmer
Although dark and smokey eyes can be sultry, shimmering and silver shadow can create the same impact but help eyes to sparkle. I love blending a light silver colour around my eye, adding a slightly darker shade to line the eye and finishing with a shimmering liner. Throw out all the rules you think work for you and try something a little different – Urban Decay and Bobbi Brown have some amazing eyeshadows and creamy formulas that are super easy to use.

The great news is that anyone can get a free five-day trial of 1-Day Acuvue Define; you just need to visit www.acuvue.co.uk to download a free trial voucher and find details about your nearest local optician. The lenses are available in Boots Opticians nationwide, as well as other retailers, making them super easy to get hold of. If you’re a glasses or contact lens wearer then you’ve got nothing to hold you back… 1-Day Acuvue Define will very much be part of my Saturday night beauty regime from hereon in, so why not give them a go?

1-Day Acuvue Define lenses are available in all UK and Ireland opticians. Cost vary but are around £44.00 for 30 pairs

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Acuvue (but all opinions are my own and I genuinely love these new lenses!)

They are such a subtle touch, but add so much dimension! Great review, not sure if I like the price, but it's definitely a fun thing to do to compliment eye makeup 🙂 xxBlog With Laura

These do look lovely and the idea of a free trial is great! I wear prescription contact lenses everyday anyway so putting these in wouldn't be any bother for me which is nice to know.Beauty and Lifestyle Blogxx

Just been and tried these in Boots but they didn't have my prescription in so I didn't get the 5 day trial but I was impressed with the difference they made (even if they were the wrong prescription) and I've ordered 30 to try and see how I get on with them.
