One of my biggest bug-bears is removing heavy eye makeup and mascara at the end of the day. No matter how much I scrub and rub, there always seems to be a little more clinging to my lashes; the dreaded ‘panda’ eyes are not uncommon the following morning. MeruMaya is a brand I really love, it being developed and produced in Britain using only the best ingredients, while remaining incredibly affordable. I’m already a big fan of their serum and cleanser, so when I found out they were launching an eye makeup remover and toner to expand their collection I couldn’t wait to give them a whirl. Although these were two years in the making, it was definitely worth the wait.
The Eye Makeup Remover combines the best of a bi-phase remover with the texture of a smooth gel formula, preventing the need to rub and scratch around an extremely delicate area of the face. It’s totally transparent and not at all oily, helping to lift up even waterproof makeup without leaving any residue. It took over two years of development to get the formula just right, and it’s no surprise – it’s pretty fantastic. There’s no irritation or stinging sensation; it’s super gentle and hydrating, helping to plump the eye area simultaneously for a radiant glow. This beats any other eye makeup remover I currently have in my collection hands down, well being worth the reasonable £14.50 price tag, and totally eliminates morning ‘panda’ eyes.
In addition, the Treatment Toner includes highly sophisticated actives to provide immediate hydration, plumpness, softening, youthful vitality and brightness to the skin. It containts Hyularonic Acid to help reduce the appearance of lines, micro algae and essential amino acids for long-term moisturisation and softening of the skin, as well as a slow and sustained release of Vitamin C that only activates on contact with your skin. It can be used after cleansing to add a touch more benefit before moisturisers and serums, as well as helping to remove the final residue of cleansing balms or makeup removers. Although I don’t use this every day, it’s great when I’m attempting to look after my skin a little more – especially after a heavy weekend when it needs all the help it can get.
These two products are currently available online via MeruMaya’s website, but will be launching into John Lewis stores and online soon. Both are priced £14.50.
