NEW From Ciate: ‘Lash Lights’ Coloured Mascara For Your Tips

I can remember when blue mascara was the height of fashion, adding a quirky edge to an otherwise boring 90’s ensemble. Although coating your lashes completely in bright blue mascara may be a little old hat and a bit too much for the office, the latest trend is to add just the tiniest hint of colour to the ends of lashes for an ombre like effect. First seen at Chanel last summer, although the trend didn’t explode immediately it’s seeing a trickle-down effect onto the high street. Ciate, most well known for their innovative nail collections, are launching their very own take on the look with this collection of ‘Lash Lights’. Available in six different colours, the mascaras are incredibly bright and come with a flat wand for precise application.

Whereas navy blue mascara is incredibly subtle, these colours were designed to be noticed and stand out even when applied over the blackest of mascaras. The formula is pigmented but light, ensuring there’s no clumping or overloading of the lashes, while the flat nature of the brush helps to get the colour just on the tips of lashes for a great twist. I love the fact you can still use a regular mascara to define, add volume and lengthen lashes, while adding just a touch of bright blue to the tips – the Lash Lights don’t even cause lashes to look stumpy or shorten the effect, giving the best of both worlds. They provide a simple way to update a look or add a splash of colour to eyes without overloading on eyesahdow, perfect if you prefer to keep things understated.

I honestly thought I’d hate these, but I’m actually loving them quite a lot. The colour spectrum is incredibly wearable (bar the inclusion of pink, which makes you look a bit ill) thanks to the rainbow of blue, purple, green and turquoise. At £14.00 a tube, these are a relatively affordable way to update a look and perfect for the festival season. You’ll definitely only want to buy one shade, but adding a hint of green to the end of lashes will not only bring out the colour of your eyes, but help to keep the gaze of the hot guy at the bar. Bonus. (Just remember to comb lashes through with a lash comb to prevent clumping after application!) Would you ever consider adding a touch of colour to the tips of your lashes?

The Ciate Lash Lights will be launching in July, priced £14.00 each, via

These are really cool! I love the idea of having ombre eyelashes. I think at £14 though, they are a tad pricey for what they are xMapped Out | Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle

id love to see how this looks on, I'm a bit dubious about all these coloured mascaras because I'm not sure how to wear them but these really do look lovely. I love the illustrations on the boxes as well! x
