It’s not often I pretty much count down the days until a product launch, but Urban Decay teased me with their ‘Flushed‘ blush and bronzer palettes some time ago… Only now have I been able to see them and play with the pigments myself, and boy was it worth the wait. Available in three subtly different colour combinations, each Flushed palette includes a bronzer, highlighter and blush colour – everything you need to create a healthy glow, perfectly contoured face and a touch of light on the skin. These little palettes make summer makeup easy peasy, providing three complementary shades that work well on practically any skintone.
You can choose from a delicate touch of pink, a more subtle coral combination or a darker bronze and plum shade for when you’ve already got a little colour. The three shades can be applied individually using an angled blusher brush, or swept up together and applied to cheeks using a chunky bronzing powder brush for a more delicate result. Urban Decay have ensured the highlighter shades are wearable, rather than being infused with so much pigment you look like a shiny glitterball. The bronzing shades are also really subtle, ensuring it’s possible to build up colour and start off with a delicate sunkissed touch – moving on to the darker shade as your colour (or holiday!) progresses.
The key to a great complexion is definitely the combination of blush, bronzer and highlighter. If only one is applied your skin can look a little flat, whereas the depth provided by all three creates an illusion of fabulous skin and a sexy holiday glow. Although these aren’t cheap (£22.00 each,) they do provide three products in one and a pretty large pan size that will keep you going well into next year. My personal favourite of the three is the ‘Streak’ shade, which provides a really subtle coral-bronze colour result without being too overwhelming on the skin. I’ve no doubt I’ll be reaching for this all summer long and prying it away from my hands when winter hits! What do you think of these new face palettes?
