With Easter on its way, it’s time to start thinking about chocolate again. Even though I haven’t even finished my Christmas chocolate supply, it’ll be no time at all before we’re all overflowing with Creme Eggs. If you fancy something a little different at the end of your Easter Egg Hunt this April, then Too Faced may just have the answer with this yummy Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette. Wrapped like something straight out of Willy Wonka’s factory, the tin inside looks like a delicious chocolate bar too. Holding a collection of 16 different (and brand new) high-pigment colours, the palette even smells like chocolate – thanks to the eyeshadows being made with 100% natural cocoa powder. This is a chocolate lovers dream in makeup form.
I’ve made no secret of the fact that I love a pretty package, and this doesn’t dissappoint. What’s the real selling point though is that the 16 new shades of eyeshadow are all wearable, soft and blendable – providing a spectrum of nude colours that makes this a real form of competition for Urban Decay’s Naked palette. Although this is slightly more expensive (£45.00 vs the £37.00 average for a Naked palette,) it contains an additional four shades and two huge pans of base colour. I hate it when a palette only has one little neutral beige, as I end up using this all over my eyelid to create a uniformed result and base on which to apply the colour. With the Too Faced ‘Chocolate Bar’ you get enough base pigment to last the duration of the life of the box.
Although this initially may seem somewhat of a makeup indulgence, it works out £2.80 for each of the sixteen eyeshadow colours – making it a much more reasonable price point for what you get. The pigments are really strong and the formulas super smooth, comparable in quality to Urban Decay’s iconic and much loved eyeshadow texture. I was sold on the packaging alone, but the subtle chocolate scent just makes this a little bit special. (It’s not overwhelming at all – in fact, you have to get quite close to the palette to even notice its sweet scent!) If you’re after something special for Easter, then why not ask the Bunny for some Too Faced instead of another Dairy Milk?
The Too Faced ‘Chocolate Bar’ palette is £45.00 and available from Debenhams. (Currently available with a £5.50 discount, making it £39.50 for a limited time!)
