L’Occitane’s rich French history ensures that every product contains some of the most delicious scents. They’re well known for their fragrances and uplifting notes, so it’s only natural that their new launches focus on expanding their perfume and home fragrance repertoire. The new Néroli & Orchidée collection portrays the ‘meeting of two precious essences’ which come together in the French region of Grasse. Orange blossom grows throughout the area, while the distinctive orchid carries the scent of faraway lands; when these two combine the result is a fresh and elegant fragrance that’s perfect for creating a welcoming home environment.
Although I love the zesty notes of orange and mandarin, the richness of the orchid combined with a
soft base of musk and iris makes this a little too ‘classic’ for me to
wear as a perfume. It’s definitely one I would gift to my grandmother,
but it’s not refreshing enough for my own personal taste. However, as a
scented candle the combination works to provide a beautiful delicate
perfume that helps to relax the senses of an evening. The candle is
presented in a delicate glass jar, with subtle golden touches making it
the perfect addition to any decor. With up to 30 hours burn time, this
is a candle that will keep you company for many Spring evenings too. At
£24.00, the L’Occitane candle is significantly cheaper than other brands
(including Diptique and Molton Brown) who charge around £40.00. This would definitely make an elegant gift for Mother’s Day, or just a treat for yourself to celebrate the oncoming warmer months.
The candle is available online priced £24.00, while the accompanying fragrance is priced £49.00 for 75ml. Also available in a body lotion and shower gel.
