With the wind, rain and snow battling across the country right now, it’s more important than ever to keep out lips hydrated and luscious. Although little pots can provide a hit of moisture, they’re not exactly glove or on-the-train-appropriate; sticks of balm make lip maintenance much easier, and these new little balms from Pixi even add a touch of colour. Infused with shea butter to provide a smooth and nourishing application experience, the balms are comfortable to wear and glide onto the lips with ease. The touch of colour in the balm is relatively subtle, providing a tint to the lip rather than a full-on lipstick effect, ensuring these are great for use all day every day.
Unlike a lot of tinted balms, which compromise on moisture to inject the
colour, these are still extremely nourishing and don’t feel any
different from a non-tinted balm. There’s no grittiness or drag on the lips when you apply, with lips feeling comfortable until the balm wears off. I love the little tubes that remind me of Parisian macaroon shop Laduree too; the packaging is great quality and contains a little safety click to ensure the cap is secure and will protect your balm. The two colours I have provide a bright pink and berry shade, but there will also be a subtle orange and lots of nudes to choose from when these launch in a few weeks. These are fab little finds and great for weather like this, when you need a colour hit but just can’t face putting on a full lipstick look.
The new Pixi lipbalms are available from the end of February, online and in their boutiques, priced £8.00 each.
