Cloud Nine: C9 Touch Hair Straighteners

Since GHD launched their powerful and iconic hair straighteners, the beauty world has never been the same. We all lusted after the sleek black plates of the GHD iron that could make our unruly locks sleek and straight, but winced at the price tag. Times have changed and GHD certainly aren’t the only player on the electrical hair styling field any more; Cloud Nine have long been an industry secret, but with their newest launch they seem to be pushing the boundaries and capabilities of electrical styling even further. The C9 Touch is now the fastest straightening iron available globally, offering instant heat that automatically switches itself on from the very first stroke of the plates against the hair – with no need to turn it on. I repeat: there’s not even an ‘on’ switch.

To get the straighteners working, you simply touch the plates together or run them through the hair; the plates sense they’re in use and heat up instantly, removing the need for a button or ‘on’ switch. The C9 Touch reaches its operating temperature of 195 degrees automatically, but if you require a lower temperature (suited to finer hair or softer
styles,) you simply touch the plates together three times to switch to
165 degrees. It’s such an odd sensation not having to flick a switch or
press a button, as the straighteners heat up automatically within a
second to the desired temperature. The functionality ensures that you can style as quickly as you need to, reducing the need to wait when you’re in a rush or simply missed a bit of hair that needs touching up.

The C9 Touch also features the Cloud Nine mineral infused plates that glide smoothly through the hair, resulting in beautifully conditioned and highly polished locks. Unlike GHDs, which can leave hair feeling a little rough and in need of a moisture injection, the C9 Touch leaves your barnet looking and feeling great. My hair is much smoother and holds its style longer after using these, whereas the GHD simply burns out the goodness and leaves hair looking and feeling a bit dried out. I’ve really enjoyed using these and have happily swapped my GHDs for the more effective C9 Touch; considering they’re available for the same price point, it makes sense to go for an upgraded version and added innovation.

The C9 Touch Hair Straighteners are exclusively available via Harvey Nichols priced £99.00

I'd love to try this but with the wide barrel, I really like that it seems to take decent care of your hair too and add a lot of shine :o) XxMakeup by Candlelight

I hardly straighten my hair anymore because I'm always using rollers or trying to blow dry it properly. But when I do use them on bad hair days these would be nice and quick. Can't believe there is no on button! Wow 🙂 xxx

They seem great. I first heard of this brand years ago from a hairdresser who said that GHD was founded by two ppl who fell out, then one left and started cloud 9. So it's similar technology, but I love the temperature control as I have fine hair that doesn't take much to straighten. I'm trying to decide between this c9 and a micro, since my hair is short, but this seems better value. Btw, they're on amazon as of May 29, for £84. Swish!
