London Fashion Week: Reporting Backstage at Heohman Simulation

This season we saw a glorious array of pieces from Korean designer Hwan Heo as he incorporated intricate beadwork, bold prints and over sized separates into his latest collection for Spring/Summer 2014. Working backstage alongside him was a large team of The Body Shop make-up artists and Label. M hair stylists as they prepped and primed the youthful group of models.

The idea that ‘less is more’ played heavily on the brief given to the
teams, as they set about enhancing each model’s natural skin tone and
allowing the hair to fall naturally without too much manipulation.
The Body Shop’s transparent Brow and Lash Gel was used to shape and define around the eyes
without the need for added coloration or heaviness. Lips remained very
natural, with only minimal amounts of lipstick being sparsely applied to
enhance natural lip tone, as well as across the cheek bones to provide a
‘healthy glow’. Hair was left to fall naturally and simply, held away
from the face with a single hair grip on either side. Minimal amount of
product was used too; Label M Resurrection Dust and Blow Out Spray
simply helped prevent the hair from falling flat and provided a subtle
texture after being gently blow dried to lift the roots.

The
emphasis of this collection was very much so on the detailing, print and
silhouette of the clothing and so by teaming these eye catching pieces
with a very natural look meant there was a complimentary juxtaposition
between the bold and the subtle. This look is incredibly easy to
replicate and simply needs a light touch to apply a minimal amount of
product. This is a great look for the everyday woman who simply wants to
emphasise their natural beauty.
