LBQ’s Top Three: Lipsticks

A touch of lipstick can instantly brighten the face, change the feel of a look or enable you to step out the door wearing pretty much nothing else. I’m a huge lipstick fan, believing it can give anyone the confidence to strut their stuff – even on an off day. However, wearing lipstick regularly can leave lips looking and feeling dry, as the pigment can often increase the speed at which moisture leaves the surface. If you want to regularly pack a punch with your makeup, you need to invest in a great lipstick that offers not only fabulous pigment, but a creamy and long-lasting texture. Here are my top three lipsticks I’d now never be without.

top three lipsticks

1. Bare Minerals: Marvelous Moxie (£13.95)
A fairly recent addition to my lipstick portfolio, this fabulous launch from the traditionally neutral makeup brand offers everything I want and more. Great colours to choose from, exceptionally strong pigment, plus a formula that’s creamy and long-lasting. My particular favourite is the bright pink fuschia shade that instantly brightens any outfit.

2. Lord & Berry: Vogue Lipstick (£12.00)
Although this brand is relatively unknown, for a bright red classic shade you can’t go wrong. The lipsticks are strongly pigmented so they almost stain the lips, meaning there’s minimal re-application needed. A slick of gloss or balm over the top will make this last all day long without drying out the lips, plus it’s perfect for a night out on the town.

3. Lipstick Queen: Saint and Sinner (£18.00)
Poppy King is literally the Lipstick Queen. She knows everything there is to know about lipstick, channeling her knowledge into her iconic range in various pigment strengths. If you love a bold look then there’s plenty to choose from, or if you’re a cautious lipstick wearer there are plenty of more delicate shades that almost act as a tinted balm. She always hits the nail on the head with colours too, adding on-trend shades to her capsule classic collection every season.

Those are my must-have lipsticks – what are yours?
