Illamasqua Hydra Veil: Rehydrating Gel Primer

Keeping your skin hydrated and looking tip-top can now be made a little easier, thanks to Illamasqua’s innovative new Hydra Veil jelly formula. Packaged in a really handy and secure pot, with even a little spoon to help scoop it out onto your hand, it offers the skin a combination of moisturiser and primer in one easy-to-use product. You can use this on bare skin or alternatively over a moisturiser or serum (depending how thirsty your skin is,) applying the smallest amount and blending it into your face like you would a primer.

It melts into skin in a matter of seconds to leave your complexion
looking and feeling hydrated, as well as creating a barrier between skin
and makeup. The barrier helps makeup to sit better on the skin,
preventing caking and allowing it to blend perfectly, as well as keeping
it in place all day. Although when applied directly to skin it can feel
a little sticky, this
is only to aid the barrier process – if you apply foundation direct to
your skin it can often be absorbed into the dry patches and float on top
of the oily sections, leaving the end result looking and feeling
patchy. A lot of primers are too heavy if you’re not used to wearing
various layers of cosmetics, so this is a perfect solution to getting
the best results in a very light all-in-one product. You need such a
teeny tiny amount that this will last you for a significant period of
time, ensuring your makeup looks ace for as long as you want it to. I’m
really enjoying using this and have already integrated it into my makeup
routine seamlessly – it’s sure to be an Ilamasqua cult product in the
making.

Available from Selfridges priced £27.00 for a 30ml pot
