Using a face scrub has been part of my routine since I was a teenager. Exfoliating away the dirt, grime and dead skin that cleansers and face washes don’t touch, leaves skin looking and feeling radiant. I’ve used many different brands and products in the last 15 years or so, but St Ives was one I used to use religiously and was always on my bathroom shelf. With 100% natural ingredients, St. Ives scrubs are proven to reveal more radiant, healthy looking skin – giving women the confidence to strip back on the amount of make-up they wear and reveal their own natural beauty. With this in mind, they’re currently running a challenge that is all about exploring, capturing and championing natural beauty. They set me the task of capturing an image that represented natural beauty to me, so I chose my Grandmother as my muse. At 82, she’s still full of energy and passion that nobody else in my family can compete with – she still has the most fabulous skin and radiance that comes from within, being proud of the lines on her face and the white hair on her head. She’s the most elegant person I know, always taking the time to put on some lipstick, but relying on simple products and skincare routines that mean she needs little else. This photo represents her at her happiest, in the garden on a spring day with her precious dog, deliberately not smiling so you can see how her face naturally folds and catches the light. Although she’s dressed down in her ‘garden clothes,’ you can see that years of early nights and walks in the park have left her with skin that someone half her age would be jealous of. If I get to 82 and look like my Grandmother, I’ll be a very happy LBQ indeed. Who is your inspiration of natural beauty?
