Illamasqua Imperfection Collection: speckled nail varnish

‘Stand up and show the world what makes you perfectly, imperfect. We want you to highlight the features other brands encourage you to cover up. Because life isn’t about finding yourself, life is about celebrating who you really are.’ That’s certainly a powerful introduction to the latest collection from iconic British brand Illamasqua, who are quickly becoming known for their mould-breaking campaigns and accompanying visuals. I have to admit that I’m a bad blogger, because up until now I’d never stepped into an Illamasqua boutique or tried a single one of their products – so these beautiful speckled nail varnishes were certainly a powerful way to overcome that. It’s not often that a nail varnish looks the same on the nail as it does in the bottle, but the effect is 100% replicated out of the glass container, giving you a unique result that reminds me of chocolate mini eggs. One coat provides a sheer result with a hint of colour and speckle, but two coats is all you need to get the full impact of the design. What I love about this polish is that the ‘speckled’ dots naturally lie in a mess, without the need for you to dab them around and even out the positioning (like so many glitter based polishes.) The polish itself is releatively thick, providing a sturdy base that dries quickly and leaves a totally unique look on nails – I’ve never had so many questions about my nail varnish in the few days that I wore the purple colour! Even though I normally stay away from fancy shades or OTT results, this is a collection I am utterly in love with and will probably wear to death. Although each one of these colours comes in at £14.50, I would say it’s totally worth splurging out on payday for something unique that you’ll truly treasure.

The Imperfection nail varnishes are available online priced £14.50 each.

Love these! I bought a L'Oreal top coat that gives a similar effect over pastel polishes and can't stop looking at my nails 🙂
