This week saw the highlight of London Fashion week broadcast across the world for millions to watch live. Burberry’s show has become a staple in any fashionista’s calendar and never fails to deliver. Christopher Bailey has achieved the almost impossible, turning an untouchable brand into something highly desirable and aspirational. The clothes may have been beautiful and left us lusting after a molten gold coat, but what about the beauty? The AW13 makeup look was based on a ‘golden nude complexion’ and included touches of a subtle glow, referencing the golden detailing throughout the ready-to-wear and accessories collections. Lips were kept nude and adorned with Trench Kisses, the name of the entire AW13 collection, bringing everything to life with a simple touch. The new Burberry Nail Polish and Multi-Use Kajal Crayon was seen for the first time, inspired by the colour palette seen on the runway. Touches of gold on eyelids were combined with deep black eyelashes to
define eyes, inspired by ‘60s beauty, while deep red oxblood nails
finished the look. Overall, it’s a beautifully subtle and understated look with just touches of colour to complement the hues of the clothing; this is totally achievable at home and perfect for that tran-seasonal glow. I love that Burberry really believes in their beauty products, making every effort to integrate them into the wider collection and ensuring the story is told throughout every single product. These beautiful backstage images only reaffirm the fabulous result they can achieve. Will you be trying this golden glow look at home?
The new collection will be available in store from September/October 2013.
