Playtex: Objective 1 Size Down

This is a very timely post, as I’m sure most of you are feeling the post-Christmas bloat around the tummy area at the moment. Those boxes of Quality Street and endless flowing mulled wine may seem a good idea at the time, but a few weeks later when you’re feeling the lumps and bumps around your waistline, not so much. I’m all for detoxing, taking a break from indulging and leading a healthy lifestyle in general, but sometimes you need a little extra help in the knicker department to keep your confidence high. Whoever invented Spanx was a genius, because they allow women to feel and look great, even after a long session on the sofa with a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Playtex, the underwear specialists, have just launched a new product and campaign called ‘Objective 1 Size Down’, which is perfect for helping to bust the January blues as we all get back into shape. Their new range of shape-enhancing underwear ‘is an innovative new generation of active shapewear that is clinically proven to provide effortless slimming and anti-cellulite effect day after day, as well as an immediate shaping effect.’ Basically, not only will it suck in that bum, but it will also help to drop centimeters off your hips and thighs in only 28 days. I won’t attempt to explain it, so here’s the science bit… “It works
using Acti-Mineral ceramic crystals that are woven into the fibres of
the fabric to stimulate a continuous massage effect of the body,
improving blood microcirculation in the area covered by the garment and
facilitating the removal of toxins. Being part of the DNA of the fabric,
the garment can be washed without compromising the effect of the
ceramic crystals and what’s more, the product is a natural solution so
that the skin absorbs no harmful ingredients.”

The underwear comes in a
traditional knicker shape, or a longer length that finishes 3/4 of the
way down the thigh for more support and a seamless slimming effect;
they’re also available in black or nude, so you can wear comfortably
under any style or shade of dress. I’ve worn these a few times over the
party season and beyond, and they’re incredibly comfortable and utterly
invisible underneath clothes. They finish quite high on the waistline
(on me they finish just below the bust as I’m quite short!) so there’s
none of that annoying bulge-over or an obvious seam showing under your
clothes, although the long leg means they’re not suitable for a lot of
skirt or dress lengths – I can only wear these if I’m wearing
knee-length garments as they’re still really visible under tights. I’m
not sure that I entirely believe their claim that you can lose 2cms off
your waist, hips and thighs by just wearing knickers – especially as you
have to wear them for 8hrs a day for 28 days, which just isn’t
realistic – but the important thing is that they give you confidence. When I’m wearing certain items of clothing I feel constantly like I need to be standing or sitting in a certain way, holding my bag in a specific place and generally fidgeting; with these I felt confident enough to just get on with it and have another glass of wine! Would you invest in a pair of control pants, or are they just too ‘Bridget Jones’ for you?

For more information on the range, see the Playtex website. The thigh slimmer is normally £37.00, but it’s currently only £17.50 in the Debenhams sale.

These sound really intriguing – I don't normally go for shapewear or things that claim to alter your shape, but for £17 in the sale it might be worth giving these a go! x

I've used these before when squeezing into a super slim dress. For the most part, they work. 🙂
