Elemis Freshskin: Peachy Perfect

An essential part of any beauty regime, the humble face wash is often forgotten. We can get so swept up in complicated exfoliators, intensive face masks and multi-layered hydration claims, that it’s easy to forget the purpose of a basic foaming liquid. All it needs to do is clean the face without stripping essential oils and goodness from skin, but sometimes it’s more complicated than that. Face washes can often be extremely drying, leaving skin feeling tight and uncomfortable while causing more problems that they help fix. Elemis is known for being a brand we can all trust, but for a lot of us the concoctions are a little too heavy – as well as the price point being a little to much to justify. Elemis Freshskin was launched back in 2011 to help the younger ladies achieve that healthy glow that they aspire to create, at a more attainable price. I’ve been using the delicately fragranced (yet complexly named) Peach Perfect Gentle Face Wash since Christmas, when my face erupted into dry swollen patches that a lot of products were making worse, and I really am loving it. The formula is light enough for me to use daily, but still extremely effective in removing dirt and creating a fresh look when I step out of the shower. I adore the fine foam it creates, that feels unlike any face wash I’ve used before – it’s so soft and light it feels like you’re washing in clouds! The formula contains hydrating chicory extract, conditioning elderflower and skin-awakening lemon to ensure your complexion is radiant and skin supple. I actually have noticed a visible difference in my skin look and feel since using this, as well as enjoying the sensory experience around it; the bottle pump allows you to use only what you need, while protecting the rest of the product from being watered down in the shower, and the non-slip pack makes it really easy to use in a hurry. The price point of this is £12 for 100ml, with is unsuprisingly about three times the price of a basic face wash you can grab from Boots. However, what you do get by spending a bit more is something that feels pleasant, smells pleasant and leaves a pleasant result on skin – unlike the bright yellow sweet lotions that may currently be on your bathroom shelf.

Elemis Freshskin Peachy Perfect Face Wash is available online for £12.00
