Winter has only just kicked in, but in the fashion world they’re already moving on to the next (warmer) thing. The spring 2013 collections have been getting an outing this week, so I popped along to see what New Look had in store for us once the fields have thawed and New Years Eve is a distant memory. Next season is not only about what we’ve come to expect from springtime (bright colours and pretty dresses,) but also a lot of texture, shape and detail. There’s plenty of fashion scope to go down the route that best suits your style, but these are my highlights from New Look’s spring collection which should be hitting our store from early next year…. I love these neon ‘punched’ clutches that would brighten up any plain dress and make it spring appropriate, as well as these black and white wedges that have a fabulous blended perpex heel. Comfort with added detail is what I’m all about, so these cute shoes would go with everything from a pair of shorts to a LBD. The highlight for me next season is completely and utterly their accessories and jewellery collection – the bold necklaces, bejewelled bangles, cute embelleshed collars and Jackie O style bags are waiting to be snapped up. They all look super expensive and designer, but knowing they’re all New Look means you can splurge without the need to sell a kidney. The colours for spring 2013 are to be expected – pastels, pinks, yellows, creams and beiges – but the way they’re combined makes next season something to be excited about. Golden embroidery, tasseled edges, tweed with studs and cashmere with diamantes… It definitely won’t be boring. I am lusting after all of these pieces, so come the time when flowers are blooming and the birds are chirping, you can see me walking down the street looking like New Look threw up on me. In a good way, obvs.
