Ainhoa City Spa: St Pancras

Sometimes I think the best thing about social media is the ability to connect with people and brands you wouldn’t normally know existed. This week I was tweeted by Ainhoa City Spa to let me know they’ve just opened up a new beauty haven in St Pancras International station. If, like me, you spend a lot of time traveling to Paris or to the Midlands (I do both, plus I work not far from here, meaning I seem to always be in St Pancras) you’ll know that the station is full of great food and impulse purchases waiting to happen, but there’s nowhere you can really go to chillax before or after a long journey. Until now. Ainhoa has opened up on the upper terrace and offers calm away from the noise and hussle of the station below. Not only can you buy some fabulous beauty products and great skincare (more on that to come,) but until the end of January you can pop in for a free 15min facial to help you recover or prepare for your journey. This normally retails for £15, but the special offer to get you through the festive season is that this is completely free when you make a purchase in store. I had a facial treatment this week and it was pretty fabulous, leaving my skin feeling refreshed, plumped and ready for the week ahead. The process involves removing make-up delicately, massaging the face, using lotions and potions to hydrate, followed by a mask to leave skin feeling tip-top. Although the facial wasn’t revolutionary, the benefit to me is where the spa is located – right in the middle of a busy station where I spend an awful lot of my time. Normally I wouldn’t dream of having any sort of treatment in the middle of a train station, but Ainhoa offers a sanctuary and calming environment that makes you completely forget where you are. The staff are helpful, friendly and caring and the products great at injecting moisture and goodness, which is what we’re all after in the midst of the winter party season. I would thoroughly recommend popping down for a free treatment – just make sure you call ahead to book in your slot!

I love the idea of a train station spa!! (Mind you, I like the idea of a spa being everywhere).A 15 minute facial though? Not sure about that. A neck & shoulder massage or foot massage in 15 minutes yes but a facial? I'd rather spend 60 minutes somewhere else.I like the 'free' price tag though 😉

It's called a 15min facial and I guess technically it's supposed to be 15mins, but I was easily there for 30-40 mins! I think it's the idea that it's express…

I was there for at least 30 minutes. The therapist was brilliant, she asked lots of questions about my skin and then gave me some great tips that didnt all revolve around the spa's products. Its definitely worth a visit
