The lovely people at NARS seem to launch a new collection practically every week, but I for one will not complain. The latest collection for Autumn/Winter 2012 includes this fabulous trio eyeshadow palette with an even more fabulous name: High Society. The berry colours are perfect for mid-season looks when you want to stay clear of the bright summer hues, but aren’t quite ready for the full-on dark winter shades of black and grey. Although I’m not a huge fan of pink or purple eyeshadow normally, these shades actually come out a lot darker than expected and are therefore much more wearable. The pink shade turns into a musky, dirty grey-pink when applied to the eyelid, perfectly complimented by the khaki-come-olive green which looks fab along the lashline. The purple can be used to create a much more dramatic look, especially when applied wet as an eyeliner around the waterline of the lower lid and along the outer half of the top lid. NARS eyeshadows are well worth their more hefty price tag as the pigments are amazing, the colour stays true, they last all night long and can be worn dry or wet… Even more amazing is their ability to keep their quality for months (even years on end) so you practically never get through a pan fully! Every so often it’s worth splashing the cash, and this is definitely one of those times.
