Laqa & Co nail polish pen

Nails, nails, nails everywhere. Who needs a bottle of polish when you can get nail varnish in a pen? These cute pens from Laqa & Co are available at ASOS and come in seven pastel shades, perfect for creating the candy looks of summer. They arrive in little card cases with a super cute patterned design adorning them, making them seem a little more luxurious than your standard bottle of polish. I went for ‘squid ink,’ a pale minty green that’s a great shade to wear with either plain block colour or floral patterns.

The cute pen comes with a fibre nib and ‘clickable’ end which shows the formula settled at the bottom, great for when you’re trying to figure out how much is left. You use it like a Touche Eclat, clicking the bottom of the pen to release formula into the nib. You do have to be really careful not to go too click-crazy, as the polish is quite runny and has a tendency to fall off the end of the pen tip. Applying easily, the pen aids application by enabling you to manoeuvre – there’s no heavy bottle to hold or lid to negotiate!

The polish itself is a beautiful shade of green-blue. Although the formula is runny, it applies to the nail well enough to create a pretty solid block of colour. You need 2-3 coats to create a good effect, so this little pen won’t go hugely far in the bigger scheme of nail polish stories. The main benefit for me though is the ease of storage and how handy these are for popping in your bag or taking away on holiday; no heavy glass bottles or the fear that one will burst all over your new shoes. Personally I’ve been using this more to create a statement nail effect, but it’s a fab polish that can also be used on all ten digits too.

Available now from ASOS in 7 pastel colours, plus 6 darker shades, priced £11.00

Love the idea of this, maybe a little too pricey for considering it probably won't last too long though.Sarah xx

This looks interesting. Maybe they'll be a bit easier to use than those varnishes with teeny-tiny lids? I hope so!
