Perfect lipstick: Giles for New Look

Every lady needs a perfectly red lipstick in her collection. It can make a modern look a little bit retro, or bring a classic look up-to-date. Your lips are a powerful weapon and can change the way you’re perceived, how confident you are or what mood you’re in. I’m a huge fan of bright and bold lips, always reaching for a strong colour when the rest of my outfit is more muted. I was sent a selection of the new ‘Gold by Giles’ collection for New Look and in haste chucked this red lipstick on as I was running out the door last Friday night. Not expecting it to be much good or last that long, I took it with me for touch ups throughout the night – what I wasn’t expecting was it to still be there, no touch-ups required, at 2am while I was on the nightbus home.

The shade is a dark red which actually catches the light to make it quite bright when applied to lips. It applies well, not stretching or drying, staining the lips so the colour hangs around for quite some time. If you leave it to dry for about 30mins it also stays on without smudging, budging or moving in any way – I literally didn’t re-apply this all night long and was permanently attached to a glass of something that should’ve had lipstick marks on. No lipstick marks could be found! I loved this so much that I actually wore it all weekend long, only needing to re-apply after eating or when drinking shortly after applying. For a lipstick that costs only £2.99 this is pretty amazing! There are quite a few other colours in the collection, but for me this red is an absolute winner and a must-have. New Look, I heart you a little bit right now.

Available in store and online now priced £2.99

The lipstick's in this line are by far the best thing in the collection, I love the dusky pink shade! On a side note the dress you have on in this post and the enrapture post is all kinds of divine 🙂 x
