October is breast cancer awareness month, if you haven’t already noticed, where the world turns pink in celebration of the research being done to prevent our mothers, sisters, daughters and aunts succumbing to this awful disease. Many brands launch special ‘pink’ products and donate a proportion of the sales to charity, but many of these brands are jumping on the bandwagon and pledging a smidgeon of their overall profits, benefiting more from the association than anything else. Jo Malone is not one of those brands.
They’ve re-released their Red Roses Body & Hand Wash for October, which not only looks delicious but smells like a divine tukish delight dream. Created from seven of the world’s most exquisite roses, it’s “crisp with the green scent of spearmint, freshened by a twist of lemon and warmed on a base of honeycomb.” Mmmmmm. It’s going to be a permanent addition to the range, but for the month of October they’re going to be donating £5 from each sale to breast cancer research. Now that’s more like it… I only wish more brands would pledge more than 0.03% of a products value in return for our enthusiastic custom.
