Laying it Bare

Well, as you know, I’ve been living it up in Marbella with Bare Escentuals for the last few days… but there was a point behind the exotic trip! We were all treated to a make-up masterclass yesterday with Bare Escentual’s creative guru SJ, who took us through the whole process of creating a flawless face using all the products within the BE range. If you’re not familiar with the brand then the ‘Get Started’ kits are a great place to, well errr, start. They contain a classic foundation, warmth bronzing powder, a mineral veil, concealer and three brushes – so basically everything you need to create a radiant complexion. All of the products are mineral based, completely paraben and nastie free, meaning you’re only putting good stuff on your skin. The key to the product is all in the buffing – applying the powder in circular movements with the brush – as this basically gets the product to work with the natural oils of the skin, buffing it in beyond the surface so you get that beautiful glow.

I’ve been using the range for about a year and I love it. However, it was really interesting to see a group of newcomers, who had never before picked up a BE product, get to grips with it so easily and create some pretty fab looking faces. It’s quick, easy, natural looking and feeling, plus you can really get the coverage you want without leaving horrid foundation lines or feeling like you’re wearing a mask. By applying the foundation and topping up with the ‘warmth’ for glow and the ‘mineral veil’ for that photoshopped finish, you’ll be able to create something in minutes that looks like you’ve spent the week in the spa.

The ‘Get Started’ kit is now available to buy on Easy Jet flights, as well as the eyes/lips/face kit which also contains three eyeshadows, a blush and a gloss, so you can grab everything you need before you’ve touched down in your exotic destination. There are lots of new products that have just been launched which I wanted to share with you too… For now here’s a quick preview, but expect some proper in-depth reviews over the next week. There’s Pretty Amazing lipglosses, which are quite simply pretty amazing, which have the most amount of colour of any BE product and come in fierce shades like bright red and bubblegum pink. High Shine eyeshadows are dip pots of loose shadow that come out looking smoking hot and metallic. Plus, there’s Prime Time which is a waterproof, smudge proof, crease proof cream eyeshadow mixed in with a primer so your eyes stay sexy all day from the beach to the bar. There’s too much to handle… I’m off for a lay down!
