Dove-ly Hair

A couple of weeks ago I was invited by Dove to pop down to the beautiful W Hotel in Leicester Square to find out more about their new Intensive Repair hair range. While I sat down and sipped champagne, their celebrity stylist Christian Vermaak (who does the ‘dos of celebs including Dannii Minogue and Emma Bunton don’t you know,) got to telling me about the benefits of this great new range of products. We all over-style and abuse our hair, so Dove have come up with patented technology that helps to repair the damage we cause, as well as helping to protect it in the future from any further hard work. The range includes shampoo, conditioner, treatment, a great express treatment conditioner and an overnight treatment too.

I’ve been using the products for a couple of weeks and I definitely have my favourites. Although the shampoo and conditioner are quite nice, lathering up and making hair feel really clean, you don’t feel any instant benefit or special result. What I do like though is the Express Treatment Conditioner, which basically works over the course of a week to give you a little bit of ‘treatment’ every time you condition your hair, meaning by the end of the week you’ve effectively given your barnet a properly intense mask without knowing! This is perfect for those of you who don’t have time to indulge in sitting with a treatment on your head, but still want the fab results it can bring. It also penetrates deep inside the hair to rebuild damaged proteins, so you can be left with swishy hair that doesn’t look like it’s been pulled through a hedge backwards.

The other product I really like is the Overnight Treatment which “revives the hair while the body is at rest. It contains fibre actives to deeply penetrate damaged hair throughout the night to actively replenish proteins and restore strength. A micro moisture serum works to nourish and seal each strand from root to tip.” Sounds like it’s something we could all do with! This is quite a light formula which can be run through the tips and ends of hairs and left to dry without any residue. I prefer to layer it all on and cover all my hair, which means you do have to wash it off in the morning, but you don’t have to otherwise. You wake up with really soft and swishy hair that feels revitalised – a feeling I like to replicate at least once a week!

I really like the range and it’s great to see a mass market brand that sells product for less than a fiver to be investing in technology, launching products that really help us ladies maintain a happy head. If I were to go with one product from the range it would definitely be the overnight treatment, but the express conditioner is also a really innovative and useful idea. Perfect for the summer months when your hair needs a little bit more TLC!

The range is available now, with the Overnight Treatment being launched later in the month.

The overnight treatment sounds a bit messy but will definitely try the express conditioner if it'll give me silky smooth locks like yours!
