Springtime fingers

Elf make-up have a new collection of Spring coloured nail varnishes just in time for a bit of sunshine. They never fail to amaze me with their on-trend products and ridiculously cheap prices, but with these new nail colours they’ve even surpassed their normal standard. There’s a beautiful copper, metallic purple, teal dream and glittery purple shade (although that’s a bit random for Spring!) to get your teeth into…

The bronze shade is really easy to apply, giving you a fab molten metal effect after only one coat. The colour isn’t as orange as it looks in the picture below – it’s more like the stock image and goes great with creams and browns. It covers up any nail bumps or imperfections too so you get a really smooth result that lasts about two days without chipping. What I liked about this polish too is that it didn’t actually chip, it more wore away on the tips so it didn’t look as drastic or ugly as normal chipping polish!

The purple sparkle is possibly my favourite colour to ever come from Elf. The colour is really rich, deep and regal looking and changes colour as it catches the light. It’s a really deep, dark purple so it doesn’t look out of place with any particular colour and the sparkles are so subtle and really integrated into the polish that you only notice if you look. With so many glitter polishes the glitter particles drag when you apply and you spend ages making them look even on your nail – with this they’re part of the polish so you get an even colour result.

The pictures don’t do these colours justice and for £1.50 each you literally can’t go wrong. The only thing I don’t like about the polishes is that they do smell very chemically – but for that price you can afford to buy an air freshener to use while you’re painting!

Love the colours! Thank you for the swatches, as I have bought Elf polishes before and their colours were nothing like that on their website. I didn't think much of the quality, BUT, as you say, for £1.50 for 'now' colours, you really can't go wrong at all! PS – like the new blog layout! xx

The gold one is amazing – wore it all last week. Now rocking the purple one which I've fallen even more in love with since writing this!
