I do love a good bath – you could say I’ve become a bit addicted to chillaxing in hot water with a face mask. Along with this addiction comes a scary obsession with things that I can put in the bath with me (and I’m not talking a hot guy.) Lush are the Kings of the bath bomb, never being beaten for frothiness and innovative concoctions. One of their latest additions is Dragon’s Egg – perfectly timed for all the theatrical, mystical movies coming out in 2011.
This delicious ball of goodness has two layers, not unlike a real dragon’s egg, which include the white outer shell and a bright orange ball in the centre. Mine got a bit crumbly, but you can see the gist of the two layers. When you pop this in your bath the shell falls away, leaving the orange ‘egg’ to fizz around like a chemical reaction in a science lesson. I love that the two layers dissolve at different times so you get a sense of theatre in your bath tub!
When it melts into the water it leaves this amazing looking marbled-effect water that’s really frothy and pleasant to sit in. As it melts it also leaves little bits of confetti floating around which turn to gel and dissolve into the water. Eventually (after about 15mins and the water goes cold!) you’re simply left with a bright orange tub of water and no bits floating around so it’s easy to wash it all away. I think this is one of my fave Lush bath bombs so far as it’s just so much fun waiting to see what happens next… a perfect excuse for lots more chillaxing baths.
