Life on Nars

I have so many eyeliners I think I could draw a black outline on every eye in Great Britain and still have plenty of pencil lead spare. I love how one slick of colour or smudge of black can change your look so dramatically – you don’t have to have the skills of Lisa Eldridge to apply liner either! My collection consists of a lot of dark colours, but a flash of brightness every so often can work wonders for your make-up wardrobe. I’m a complete NARS virgin so when I came across this beauty from their range in one of my favourite colours I just had to try it.

The shade is ‘Palladium’ and the product itself is technically a ‘soft touch shadow pencil’ but I would say you could use it as either a liner or shadow depending on what look you’re after. It glides on nicely and the colour is true to the bullet – a beautiful sea-green, turquoise shade that is full of subtle turquoise flecks of glitter. It’s really easy to use the chunky pencil as an eyeshadow as you simply ‘colour in’ your lids, chucking on as much colour as possible, and then use your finger (or brush if you’re good with them, unlike me!) to smudge and blend the colour outwards.

This is a completely fresh shade for my collection and I can see me wearing it a lot throughout the Spring and into Summer. Because it’s got a crayon-like texture it doesn’t set naturally and does have a tendency to crease on your lid after a few hours… by dotting on a teeny bit of powder though you’ll solve this problem and make the ‘pop’ of colour last much longer. (I would take the pen with you though for touch-ups throughout the day or night – the whole point it to have a strong colour so keep it bright!) A good introduction to NARS for me; a great colour, fab packaging and lots of subtle sparkles.
